Nothing against Legos, but IMO, it has no place as an expansion to the FH5 platform, regardless of it’s previous expansion status. It’s fine as a stand alone for those who want that type of gameplay, but why force it into a game with a completely different format?
I wasn’t thrilled about HWs either, but at least it is a “similar” environment in which we can use all of our existing cars with similar play & challenges. Some of the unique tracks at least make it interesting & I actually fully completed it.
Legos, on the other hand, completely changes the game in its entirety from what I’ve seen. Granted, I never played any of the previous content, but I did unfortunately spend a fair amount of time with them showing up in races or free roam to be fully annoyed by the shear absurdity of it in an environment that is supposed to be promoting realism.

It does make me wonder why hot wheels was released first. Makes me even more curious about expansion 2. I could use a nice new standard looking map with many extra road/dirt/CC/street races (like fortune island) for rivals (and maybe Eventlab if I could ever get it to work).
That’s all I ask for.

People were speculating a Jurassic World themed map for the first expansion, before we got Hot Wheels. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just switched them to be unpredictable.

Watch it will be a theme nobody is expecting, probably wont be for another couple months though my guess.
A map expansion in China? Makes about as much sense as anything else…

Doubt they’d do a tie-in with a franchise that had it’s latest release several months ago, and the second expansion isn’t likely going to be released for probably another 4 months at the least. Besides, I thought the Jurassic World suggestion was rather frivolous (to put it politely). I mean, other than the Ford Explorers and a Jeep or two, what does Jurassic Park/World have to do with cars? At least Hot Wheels is a toy brand based on cars, Lego has toy car-based sub-brands, and Fast and Furious is a movie franchise where sometimes the cars are more likeable than the stars.

Can’t find the size of the DLCs but Horizon 1 had a 63km^2 map with limited freedom compared to the other games. I would really hope what you and many other are saying because it would be really cool to get to race again in Colorado on an updated map. Although I don’t see it coming. Even when as of the latest forza monthly the developers teased the Horizon 10-years Anniversary for the next series update and kept saying something like adding cars, championships and cosmetics that would recall something from prior games.

Playground Games never move far away from the current location which is Mexico. Texas might be possible for example, but not Japan.

This might sound farfetched but I believe expansion 2 is going to be based in Shanghai.

What if it’s Japan instead… What if they have already choosen a location for FH6 but didn’t want to leave fans hanging.
The code name for expansion 2 is nightfall and it’s due to land early 2023. The rumor is it’s city based. Something FH5 lacks and something that fans want.
Now the Kia Sportage “Nightfall” car is rumored to release in Japan in 2023…

My hope is unrealistic but some of Horizon 1’s “unique” cars would be awesome.
Devon GTX, Joss JT1, SSC Ultimate Aero(!), Aston Virage.
In the end it’ll be lackluster with Horizon 1 clothing, some themed races (Viper) on the same tracks as always…
