Would be great to have a more detailed/more options to control specific car sounds independently.
And, ideally (I know it’s a stretch) adjust which frequencies they use. Or, just remix the racing sounds better so that different eleements have their respective frequency ranges (below 300Hz or so).
This is particularly relevant for those who race on consoles and want to get tactile feedback by using the game audio signal to drive bass shakers in their sim rigs.
Currently there’s very few options to control sound levels of elements like:
- Suspension/tyre sounds
- Tranmission
- Engine sound
Anyone using the game audio to activate the bass shakers - there’s not much happening other than the sound of the engine (not that well mixed on all cars) and when tyres are hitting the curbs.
All car sounds seem to be just mashed together and there’s very little distinction between different eleemnts/sounds a racing car produces during the race.
Just to give a better idea - when playing ACC, there’s a way to adjust suspension sound effects (if I’m not mistaken). Other audio effects like switching gears/gear shifting are much more distinct and well pronounced. When playing with bass shakers, this provides a better tactile experience and overall, even when playing without bass shakers - the sound experience of driving a race car seems to be more realistic.
In addition, there doesn’t seem to be a slider to disable or reduce the sound level of UI FX, e.g. when the car level goes up. Would be good to have a separate slider for UI sounds too as the current sound is just a “Hollywood action movie” low frequency overkill - absolutely unnecessary.
So the bottom line of this suggestion:
- Have more slider options to control levels of different sounds related to car mechanical parts
- Sounds to have their unique frequency ranges in the region 300hz and below (in addition to higher frequencies which are part of the normal game audio)
- Option to disable UI FX sounds during the race or at the very least - reduce their levels
