Been greatly enjoying the community championships in comparison to the official ones. Good implementation that I’ve been expecting since custom routes were introduced and T10 picked some great races.
What?! Enjoyment, you say?!!! This forum is only for complaints!
lol I’m enjoying them too I can’t say this is my favorite Horizon ever, since each offers its own unique terrain, but I’m really loving the car list and weekly championships.
Not my favorite Horizon either. I wasn’t very keen on Great Britain as a setting until these events really showed off how much variety you can squeeze out of the setting with the long treks it has. The soundtrack looping needs some tweaks to catch up to longer community races and Fortune Island events, or at least an option to have songs play normally.
I agree with the OP. I didn’t catch the name of the championship before I started, but as soon as I saw the title of the first race, I knew these were new courses. I was pleased to find out that they came from the community. There were some unusual twists and turns (and they were all longer than the stock races), but all three were pretty polished. Nice change. I hope to see more of what the community can do.
Loving those too, show some love, not only hate!
Heheh, good job.
I love that they have these as well. Not only for new track, but also as a route creator myself. Seeing other peoples tracks and trying them the first time gives me insights on things I can do better, fresh ideas and in sme cases, things to avoid.
It also is a double edged sword though. Last week I was absolutely over the moon when my “Knights of the Round” showed. Unfortunately the car type and time of day was changed. Time of day making me a little sad.
Alas, no tracks this season for me in the event… Highs and lows…
But currently working on my new series of races, so I expect this will be a thing as long as people make courses.
Kinda enjoying this too. It’s like a whole new game with all new tracks/trails etc. Actually requires concentration instead of “oh look, it’s the track I can do blindfolded again”
More please!
Also… no wallriders >;)
The final route of this week’s community challenge we pretty fun … zipping around all through the festival site.
I’m having a loved/hate relationship with them so far. The first one was horribly unbalanced and finally needed to use rewind to block out the AI overtakes. The last race I only needed to come in 7th to win the series and before using rewind I was getting shoved and mauled into 10th. With rewind managed 3rd but 1st won by over 20 seconds and 2nd was 10 seconds ahead. This week’s was more balanced but the twists and turns on the festival grounds did it challenging to say the least. Overall what I’m tired of are all the series that only want to use S2 998 cars, I mean why bother having any other cars in the game if that is all you end up being forced to use? Yes they started making them allow a range of PI but the database still uses the S2 998 leader-board times as the AI even if running C class.
I will keep playing the season challenges as they are a nice twist, it is just a shame the basic AI of the game is the same broken AI we’ve dealt with for the entire life of the franchise.
