You’ve probably only been playing the first one of each pair of races. The first one in each pair isn’t multiclass, because most likely the FM7 option to allow a slower class to determime the end of the race hasn’t come across to the new game. If they were multiclass, your race would end up finishing early. That’s why only the events where you drive a prototype/sportcar are multiclass.
No, I’ve now played all the races, none of which were multi-class.

I’ve just heard from someone else that the proto races lost their GT cars after the last update. So, I apologise to you, you were correct.
