Endurance racing!

Did Catalunya yesterday and completly forgot about fuel, so i ended up with an empty tank on lap 22
Startet again with a 100% and a 60% Affinity Boost. This brought me up to level 24 with BMW. Then did a quick round of Nordscheleife with an X5 for the last level to unlock the BMW Mod (24% Grip, 50% Credits).
Had a strange issue. Driwing with a wheel the XBox seems not to recognize any Input, so the Screen went dark every 15 Minutes. Pushing the Pause-Button solves this. Anyone else having this issue?
I could not find a setting to turn this off.

Just completed my second one, 100mile atlanta. Love the fact that the back markers move off the racing line and actually give way to you!!! awesome touch!

seems to me then you can get 50 miles to a tank. wonder if it is different for each car? ive used the lambo on both mine

I used the corvette and got about 60 miles

Sorry, Im just now seeing you already got an answer…

I did the Catalunia 100 last night on PRO difficulty and cosmetic damage. Even though I did not have to pit, the best I could manage was 3rd. 1st place was over 7,000 feet in front of me.

I had to block on just about every corner for the last 15 laps (about half the race) in order to maintain 3rd place, otherwise I would have been more like 6th or 7th. Top 5 AI cars were at least 5 seconds a lap quicker than me.

I’ve never been showed up by AI like that before. Usually I can manage a top 3 on Unbeatable.

Just did Sebring and it was pretty intense for about 30 minutes.
Playing with damage and lame above average drivatars. Next time I’ll definitely be upping their difficulty.
Lap 1 had to plug my controller in, didn’t pause just kept it running and fell to the back of the pack. Eventually caught up to the leader on lap 10 to pit. After catching up again and the lead cars pitting, the only times I saw them was me lapping them. I think I finished 6 laps ahead of them. Lap 73 I decided to pit one final time. Lap 82 I ran out of fuel on the middle half of the back straight but had enough speed to carry me the rest of the way.
Completing that race set me on a path to climb the leaderboard.

Side question, is there a way to switch classes for them or are they fixed? I’d love to do Sebring or Le Mans in the GT 'Vette.

Haven’t touched endurance races yet but hoping to do Nordschleife 125 tonight, I drive with cosmetic damage, can anyone confirm if I need to Pit, will my tyres wear and my fuel drain or does that only happen with simulation?

When I did it this morning with the sim on driving the 458gte I got 3 laps in before I had to pit but I was pushing it really close to running out of fuel. tire wear was atleast 25% by each pit. all that was with sim.

I have completed The Indianapolis Oval 100 Endurance race which took close to an hour and a half. I also have completed the Daytona 300 endurance which took about 2 hours and 30 to 45 minuets. I dont know how the payouts work compared to single races in career mode but i like leveling up like 8 and 9 times at once. haha. I made a clip of mine last two laps and me leveling up on the Indy oval last night. Forza 6 LVL Up Like A Boss - YouTube

are you using xp boost cards? when I do endurance races I used three of the 100% xp boosters, I level up quite a bit from this.

Heck I’m gonna do one now just to level up. Lol

Yes i use boost cars for driver level XP. I figured i would get a ton more levels. i think in my video i posted at the end ,it shows my boost cards i used.

Thanks for this - I was wondering what the XP for the track / 100 laps was (it was 130k or 1300 per lap with out boosts) now I can do calculations on affinity maxing and such… for Indy and I can see if its mileage based or not after comparing to another track.

@NEVERENDER if you run cosmetic with no tire wear you do not need to pit.

Do you notice your grip getting worse as tyres wear out? I thought it was very well done in Forza 3 where if I delayed pitting to try and finish the race without a pit stop, my lap times got so bad from the worn tyres not gripping well that I didn’t really gain any advantage.

My tyres got to 70% and could definitely feel the front end slipping.

I’m so glad they brought back endurance racing, I absolutely love long races. I wish they had longer ones and you could choose which car/class you wanted to run on them. I will be doing Sebring after work today with sim damage on. Can’t wait!!

Its in the rain so you may want to practice the lines a bit… 82 laps in LMP1 ( Pug908, R15, or R18Etron) and you’ll have a ton of GT traffic to pass… and you are a lot faster then they are… Its pretty intense and depending how fast you are about 2 hours 40 minutes plus… I loved it for the first hour and half then reality set in and it became an endurance race. LOL

I must say it was very exhilarating to get passes done at speed in Bishops Bend, the Curve between T10 and T13 and the one right after the hairpin knowing the puddle is coming and you better have nose pointed right.

The 908 as more out right speed - but I hate the stock diff settings, I’m guessing (not sure if you can tune or not, i’m thinking not). I was in the R18 etron because I can drive it stock no issues except the starting it in Manual w/o clutch part.

–Just giving you fair warning, Taco if you haven;t done it yet - and rewinds may not save you as they don;t always work.

I did it on PRO level and Cosmetic damage so I lapped the R15’s and R18 3 times and the second place 908 twice I think… SO if I had to pit it would have been a battle royal. Having done it I would probably do much better - but I was a bit shakey on the start - trying to figure out how much puddle/ throttle I could use and get braking points down. But I ended up doing 152s and then 45 minutes to go I lapsed a bit.

I plan on revisiting it with sim damage as well but after I go though the other ones. Can’t wait to get in the C7R and go …

Yep, I did it after work yesterday. I used the Audi R15 TDI, loved every min of it. The TDI didn’t have the top end the others did but I had to learn real quick how to manage all that torque from the diesel with no assist. All in all I loved it. Bout to do another one right now.
