Endurance Races and freeroam

Ok, the only forza i have ever played is Forza Horizon (the one with wrist bands) and that’s it. I have always been a need for speed fan but want to start playing Forza because i absolutely loved horizon. Now i have heard and seen that there endurance races in motorsport 6 and i can assume there will be in 7. Please can someone explain to me how they work and if there are actual 24 hour endurance races (i’ve heard there are in forza mot 7 but only saw 2 hour ones in forza mot 6). Also, because i’m a nfs fan, i’m used to freeroam and being able to drive around a city, is this possible in mot 7 because it it was in horizon but i know that forza motorsport is different.

.Thank you,

Nope. Motorsport is tracks only. If you’re an NFS fan, think of Shift. It’s only on tracks. No driving around in an open world, that’s only Horizon. If that is more your taste, Horizon 3 came out back in October of 2016, and an is amazing gane. Maybe that would fit your taste better as it’s more arcade like and open world, like NFS. Motorsport tends to be more “realistic” and strictly track based. They go back and forth. 2017 is Motorsport 7, 2018 will most likely be Horizon 4, 2019 Motorsport 8, and so on and so forth, assuming to the schedule they’ve been doing for the last 6 years of back and forth.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Oh that’s great anyway, i loved shift, one of my favourites lol, i’ll probably pre-order it but i have to have a look at need for speed payback first, since it looks really good. Thanks again

The Motorsport equivalent of freeroam would be track days, where cars are free to enter and exit the track and run laps at will. True freeroam would never work in this type of game because it is focused on specific racetracks which are scattered across the world.

The endurance races on Motorsport aren’t exactly what I’d call “endurance”, they’re more like sprint races that are just long enough that you need to pay attention. Each one takes about 10-15 minutes and requires that you do 1 pit stop. Forza 4 had two-hour-long races on Le Mans but they were very unpopular so I don’t see them making a return.

As others have already said, there’s no freeroam in Motorsport, but IMO Horizon 3 is a downgrade from the original which is a far better game overall. I would try out the demo for Horizon 3 and Motorsport 6 and see which one you enjoy more.

FM6 did have them, they were under the Showcase events.

Yup. I seem to recall there being at least one race that took over three hours (Sebring in the wet), and I think there were around 10 set endurance events in the showcases (as well as the ability to create your own). I maxed out the affinity of every brand largely by creating two-hour races for myself - very relaxing way of passing an evening.

Indeed

So long as you race cleanly and respect other cars on-track while in pursuit of victory, I’m sure the community will welcome you with open arms

If you need any help in that regard there are plenty of resources online to have a read through.

Awesome man! Welcome to the community and hope to see you on the track!
