So i hit Driver level 1000 and it just went back to level 1 and started counting over again. 
Yep that’s normal. The game should now show a star next to your name, this means you’re prestige 1. Everytime you reach 1000 you will get a new star.

Reminds me of the life cycle of Motorsport. FM4 was 1000 out of 100. FM8 is 1 out of 100.

100% a cheater.
The time needed to achieve that level exceeds the time the game has been available to play.
there was a money/speed glitch that leveled you up super fast. if he even spent only an hour doing the glitch he would level up close to 4000times. i got 700 levels in 15 minutes
I didnt cheat or use a glitch.

Check the leaderboard when in races. I’ve seen the star appear there. It’s the same approach as in Horizon. But with a bug added to stop it showing normally
