On an online multi player event the other day my race was ruined and the offending culprit received a 0.20 penalty which got me to thinking (dangerous I know!!)
If an incident is bad enough, could a Drive Through Pit penalty system be implemented instead of a timed penalty. The driver could be forced on the next lap to pit. This would seem to me to be a strong deterrent for people to race better and cleaner. Timed penalties (or sometimes no penalty) don’t seem to take into account the severity of what has occurred to other racers who are trying their best to keep things clean.
Just an idea, works in real racing, why not here.
Thanks.
To add to the above, as I came across racing at Bathurst in MP on the weekend. I had a racer right in front of me spin out going up the hill at the cutting (turn 4). The track being incredibly tight I had nowhere to go, I hit the brakes but still t-boned him and got a 2 second penalty for my troubles. That would be the only problem I could see if a drive through penalty system would be implemented, getting a false drive through penalty applied.
@ManteoMax could you please move this to Motorsport Features > Multiplayer/Online forum
