Anyone else feel like the drivatars purposely smash you into the grass, or spin you out? That said, are drivatar profiles that detailed? I feel like I’m racing with 12 year olds that just knock you out to get ahead 1 position. Am I the only driver left who enjoys the challenge of overtaking cars without smashing into them at full speed!?
You are not alone, many have said they are very aggressive. They learn the style from the players they represent, although I’m not sure how accurate they are. I play on unbeatable only, and they are half decent, but still overly aggressive.
I am pretty sure that Drivatards have no ability to determine that other cars are on the track with them. They dont react to other drivers because there is no actual AI involved.
They are more like dynamic ghosts…before the race starts each drivatar is assigned its stats, like good turns=15%, perfect turns=5%, etc etc. The line they will drive around the track is pre-determined. I am guessing that is why they drive so fast when they get knocked into the grass…the games physics system does not apply to them. If they deviate from thier pre-determined line due to bumping and grinding they just try to get back on it as quickly as possible. They will not try to avoid a collision because they cant see the other cars.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I think is happening.
You are not alone, I have stopped driving against them, it’s not racing, it just makes me frustrated, Rivals is the only thing I’m doing nowdays.
Im looking to get the cleanest racing I can out of the drivatars.
Ive read that if I race clean they will race clean (mostly). Im curious as to what sets them off.
Will an innocent bump set them into death mode, how hard does the collision have to be?
If they run into me, does that set them off?
Does a run in with one car set the whole field off?
Also, can they set each other off? Ive hung around in the back of the field just to watch what they will do. They start bumping each other, sometimes it escalates to one of them sending
another off track. It usually takes awhile for them to sort it out. This is on pro and unbeatable.
Anyway, Im not even sure that there is a death mode, except I saw it mentioned in another post. If anyone has any real insight into their behavior it would be appreciated.
Also, what do the colors next to their name mean (usually yellow or orange)?
I thought it was braking but I see it in the oddest places (beginning of a straight and such).
Thanks for the responses
