Drifting for beginners!

Hi all, what’s the best RWD car for drifting for a beginner, and what sort of set up should I be looking at?need abit of help please :see_no_evil:

Best stock car to learn on would probably be the Jaguar F Type or the Toyota GT86. Both are completely driftable in stock format and are not ludicrously overpowered, which would lead to learning improper technique.

Best tuned cars to learn on would easily be the Nissan Silvia series. With roughly 500-600 bhp, and a proper setup these cars are incredibly well balanced (with stock engines, NOT V8s), and will also help teach the importance of carrying speed and not simply powersliding everywhere.

I do have a tune available for the S15 if you’d like to download it, just to get a taste and to check out what the settings are. However, I would also advise to download several other tunes from different people to shop around and get an idea of how you want the car to feel.

Whatever you do though, DON’T jump straight to R-Class 900bhp monsters. I see people in lobbies do it all the time, and they just end up running into everyone else and sliding off the outside edge of turns.

Honestly the '97 BMW M3 (E36) is really beginner friendly if you don’t do a crazy tune. Stock tires, new flywheel and maybe like an air intake and you’ll have low enough power that you can learn to drift the smaller corners easier, but just enough that you can hold out the longer corners when you get better. Also, if this car or whatever car you end up picking feels good in it’s stock form, then just gradually add upgrades and keep driving the car so you’ll stay used to it and score higher.

Cheers

Also, you can never go wrong with a 240sx. The 240sx and E36 is basically the most standard drift car in the real life scene out there.
