Were the drift zones nerfed with the latest patch? I noticed the scoring is reduced as I am unable to reach my high score. It seems I lose 200k points per drift run down the mountain drift (I can never remember the name of it) and it is frustrating because I have tried many times with my same tune on the same car
Sorry, this isn’t meant to be rude, but you haven’t solved anything dealing with drift zones giving out less points. Going into the dirt or whatever you were talking about is not a fix nor does it give you as many points compared to pre patch.
Yes it does, you can get more points by going onto dirt as I explained. I tested it, and broke one of my records. It’s a bit harder if there’s a tree in the way.
That’s not a fix though. IMO it’s borderline exploitive. You’re telling me that I must now go off track when doing drift zones and drift in the dirt to score as many or more points than before the patch? That’s cheap and in a way cheating. I’ve seen videos on how you can just do little burnouts in the dirt now and rack up huge drift zone points. If you’re about posting cheap and exploited scores on the leaderboard, then sure you fixed the issue. I, and many others, enjoy road drifting the normal way…as in keeping your tires on the road.
For the most part you can definitely tell the difference in the way you gain Drift Score during the Drift Zones in the recent days take for example the East Coast Drift Zone i have spent countless hours on this Drift Zone rewinding to get the perfect score and it finally paid of after a couple of days with a score of 268,000 points, Each run i can normally gain above 250,000+ points but since the update it has been an average of around 210,000+ points whilst doing the exact same run as my personal best, I can understand why they have changed the area in which you earn points in a Off-road Drift Zone as you wouldn’t be earning score whilst still being in the Drift Zone. However they should also think about adding a cap to the amount of score that can be gained from a Drift Zone for example The Giro Encorvado Drift Zone which is a very short Drift Zone that you could gain at most 70k from but there is people sat at the top of the leader board with 2,000,000+ points this should be address in the same way that Speed Traps max out at 348.96 mph.
I was curious about this so gave a couple of drift zones a go…I’m not a very good drifter and am never consistent but one of them I had about 4 runs and was getting a consistent 85-90k when my PB is nearer 120k and I could usually get at least 100k even on a bad run. Seems to me like there is a 30k difference for whatever reason
That still doesn’t give you the same points as before the update, not sure why you think it’s a full solution as it isn’t. Doesn’t even really boost the point multiplier, only gets a tiny bit more as you are travelling a further distance in a drift, which is exactly the same as how drift lines worked before. Whatever I’ve tried, I’ve only been able to do 1.25 on Cara Este zone whereas before the update I did 1.57. Went fully wide on all corners and did a near perfect run, nothing is picking up that extra 300k.
Drift goes up faster wide than narrow. Like the double part of a dart board on dirt. I think you are talking about a road, it doesn’t work so well on roads, they didn’t widen them.
I’ve tried on both road and dirt, it does feel like they’ve widened the boundaries where you can get points, both on road and off but even so taking wider lines only has the same effect as before and the points are still significantly lower than before, whatever happens on whatever zone. I was good enough to consistently hit high scores at near the maximum capability of the car i was using and i’m still consistent but the scores are still roughly 20% lower.
That’s not an explanation for a game that racks up point for going into the dirt. That’s just you not wanting to do something that the game scores points for. Even before the update the scoring was based on the wideness of your turns.
I don’t care what anyone says, the drift zones are different and I was one of the first to comment on this after the patch.
Road zones are about 5% - 10% more difficult. Where I was constantly hitting 1,300,000. Now I’m in the 1,100,000 - 1,200,000 on the largest drift zone.
Dirt zones on the other hand are about 5 - 10% easier.
Wider does help on dirt but has no effect as such on road. Although I personally liked the dirt zones as was, I’m not complaining if it helps balance it out for everyone. The only thing that should be done is wiping the leaderboards as the extra difficulty in Road zones is highly unfair to anyone now trying to compete against these easier set scores.
Some of the tracks are impossible to beat now such as the one in the middle of the map by the Horizon Festival… it’s just a wall, you can’t go wide on it. The scoring on roads needs to be compressed a bit, but the drift Failed could be left where it is.
Although mentioning the Festival Zone. I do have a laugh looking at the leaderboard… the scores are out of this world. Some people have no shame in what they’d do to get 1st on a virtual scoreboard.
Edit:. On that zone, take it tight entering from festival side, and then use handbrake to widen it slightly on exiting the corner and aim for flag on the inside at finish line.
I used 0% brake pressure although I’m not sure if that helped (personal choice).
I’ve managed to get 50,000+ doing it that way. Hopefully this helps?
