Don't sleep on Horizon Arcade - Drift

I know drifting divides the FH community, but I was pleasantly surprised when I took my first stab at these events this past weekend. I am average drifter at best, but I found I could complete these solo in about 4 minutes time. This is EASILY the most efficient way to gather Forzathon Points AND I leave with 10-20 skill points.

If only the events didn’t feel so lonely :).

You must be new. Arcade events were super nerfed recently, drifting included, presumably until the devs fix underlying problems. At release, the devs bungled Arcade so badly that winning all three events was almost impossible without at least five good players (which almost never happened because multiplayer has been broken since day one and remains broken). For now, yeah, getting Forzathon points from Arcade is super easy, because Arcade has been made super easy. It’s a big joke, except nobody is laughing.

Its called nerfing. When they change an event to make it doable even in the worst circunstances, and even by monkeys, yes, thats called “NERF”.
And no. The devs didnt “FIX” anything, they just went for the easy way and made the event as i said, doable by monkeys.

I’m familiar with the term but it doesn’t apply here and your comprehension of the term seems incomplete. It’s a nerf is something is made less difficult or potent in a game by design. This is a bug fix because the original desired difficulty was restored by fixing code. That is what happened per the bug log and backed up by the fact it matches how FH4 worked and evident if you play with multiple players now vs solo. FH5 was not scaling difficulty to the amount of players present for the event at launch. It made the arcades basically impossible.

As I understood it it is indeed a fix to make arcade possible while they were fixing the underlying server issues.
Also there is reason to believe they did ‘nerf’ it in the sense that they made the goal very easily reachable so the seasonal and related daily events would be within easy reach for everyone.

This is also not how it was in FH4. Forathon Live did not scale with players IIRC and was impossible to do single player and would be done in a minute or so if you had a big group.
I am not sure what becomes evident with more players.

The only thing I found is that Arcade now actually can become more difficult with more players if you have a few players who don’t know what they are doing. I was in an Arcade with two other players (I think) the other day. All goals scaled to 3 players (or maybe there were 4? Who can tell?), but I was the only one really scoring points. Goal was still reachable but the timer got really close to the 10 minute mark… so basically now you can almost solo a 3 person Arcade

Yup its a complete joke now. Too easy but not because of it im going to do a drifting arcade lol. I hate drifting enough.
And its not about being a good drifter or not, you dont need to be in the arcade. Its about if you like it or not… lol.

I hate drifting, Never been good at it and avoid it at all costs but agree that drifting in the “horizon arcade” is not a challenge even for me, However when drifting becomes part of the story missions then the Drift-Cho mission in Vocho will always remain at 2 stars for me and will stay that way until i meet my maker.

You do not need to drift.
Just hop around using the ramps, crash into objects (excepts the lorries and golf cars and may also not into the stadion) and keep the counter multiplying.
You do not need to stay at the stadion either.
Just go toward the autobahn and drive a slalom through the barrier in the middle.

The issue is that with drifting you can continually score points, whereas during jumping a delay of some seconds until the next jump (or object) can end the chain, erasing the multiplier.

Practive using the handbrake to swipe objects with the side of the cars, this is by far the easiest way to score 1.000 points. Advertising boards (a lot around the perimeter) give you 1.000 too.
30 of these crashes (sideswipes) and a multiplier of 5, and you are set for three stars.

Well arcade is broken for me at the moment

Must be something at the server level cause im gettingother players disappearing during the arcade, like they’ve been shifted to another server the moment arcade starts, so ended up having to solo that crap.

I’m no good at tuning but in the daily 1M CR+ Arcade daily challenge getting my 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Forza Edition to score highly in a drift zone was more difficult than I expected.
