Arcade events, recent experience

For whatever reason I decided to do some Arcades. Been doing them for a few days, maybe a dozen done, around there I think. Not done Drift events in this time.

In all but two I was by myself. One Chaos (?) event had a couple of low-rank players; they were trying so I did the work rather than quit. The other was a Speed event, two others showed up just before the cut-off and did nothing so I quit that event.

Mini-missions in Chaos events still have issues. Pointless waiting after successfully completing a task. Wrecking Ball task is still there; nigh-on impossible unless you’re already well into a chain. The one for getting to 60 mph is still broken, if you’re above 60 mph you cannot get it.

I agree, the wait in mini-missions, after you completed task, is mega irritating. Especially so, if you are running solo and/or low on time for whatever reason and you lose cause the game isn’t intelligent enough to advance to the next task immediately.

Overall, the arcade games could be good, but they are super stale now, and almost never have teammates to play them with.

I do the occasional drift one (generally quickest to do) and it comes as a shock if i’m not on my own - i do avoid ones that start over the motorway though because they pick up players by accident who just make it harder to complete .Usually combine them with a bit of skill point farming ,can usually muster 2x500k runs in a drift arcade

Y’all can’t be right with this whole “I’m all alone in the arcade” nonsense.
PGG said they have over 20 million players! And they also improved the net code carried over from FH4!
Those arcades MUST be brimming with players!

The hourly forzathons worked much better in fh4. They should have refined that a bit more and design a way to reward people who actually participated in them

Did one yesterday and there were at least 5 of us. The scaling and the selection of speed trap and zone was a bit messed up so it was a failure.

Thing is most people didn’t realise/say the time between them was part of why they were popular in 4.

To me it looks as simple as PG saw people enjoyed Arcade, decided to expand upon it in this game and just went too far.

The afore-mentioned bugs with Chaos in particular + the unreasonable targets for solo/small groups before the change made a bad early impression as well.

But I personally won’t be too harsh on PG over the changes to Arcade from 4 to 5, trying to give us more of something mostly well liked isn’t something you can say has happened or even been attempted often with this series in recent years.

The first few months when the game launched it was the same deal pretty much. But every once in a while i still would manage to find bunch of players.
Not to dismiss all the issues. This is purely players being interested in horizon arcade and participating in horizon arcade besides these problems.

Knowing these things are rare i took picutres. But i mightve deleted some of them as i cant find more.

It’s unfortunate really bc this used to be such a core part of the game for most. Spontaneous meet-ups & interaction with other players in free roam such as this. Granted, not always pleasant & there were certainly the fair share of horn-blowing agitators, but at least there were plenty of players enjoying the game. For a while now, if I see any other players “Online”, they are typically new players tearing around that quickly disappear.

This was early last year, parked in my Cobra, & other players decided to randomly join me so I used it for a photo op…

I’ve had similar experience just after Sian was gifted - there were 2 of us at the beginning and then the group of similar Sians became to be bigger and bigger, and we were just driving around the map for half an hour or so. It’s a shame it’s so rare!
