Hey lou when do you guys usually get together for racing. Have you guys been moving up to B,A,S class? I know you said something to me before about racing with you guys but i forgot what you said due to alcohol consumption that night lol.
The only thing that is scheduled is a group that races B class every Friday night. We start around 8:30 or so EST, sometimes a little later. A guy named kwl Enzo is always the host. Other than that, its all impromptu. We race D,C, and B class (sometimes A, but its rare) with C class being the most common. We had a really good lobby this past Friday. I’ve tried on multiple occasions now to schedule things for lobbies and it just never works out. Impromptu is hit or miss, but it yields the best results, IMO.
If you see that I’m in a lobby, don’t be shy about hitting join, all of you are always welcome.
To be fair Lou I have been watching you on the leaderboards of C class and for someone who was quite a way off you have been edging closer and closer over time. I looked at a rival time this weekend and you are my rival…time to chase you down! hehe
Although I wont be using a car with that rally motor in
I remember those days too! what was it 3 months ago he was always saying he couldnt keep up lol. Now thats not the case at all. He has done one hell of a job on focusing in on his goals and making them happen. Good job Lou
His driver level is like 2000+ lol. That’s easily 6-7 months of driving crammed into a short period. He’s definitely fast-tracked things but the best thing he did was ask for help and try to do some research. That’s rare. It seems that usually it takes a year or two for the average person who cares to get to this point.
A cautionary tale though - don’t be satisfied just yet. There’s a lot of beastly drivers who haven’t bothered to lap or might not even have the system. If you want a taste of what the leaderboards could be, try one if the tracks where the French have hotlapped in large numbers.
Thanks for the kind words everyone… I am a firm believer in not being shy about asking for help. Its usually the best way to learn things. I’ve been fortunate to receive some great help along the way from numerous people whom I have become very friendly with. I personally think this is a great forum and I would never be half as good at the game without this place.
Totlxtc: You are my rival on a lot of the leaderboards right now. You’re a little bit ahead of me on most still, so I’ve been gunning for you a lot lately. Nothing personal, you’re just the name that comes up
Truth be told, I fully intend to beat all of you… Just not able to do it quite yet For now, the top 100’s in C class are still putting a smile on my face, so you’re all safe until I decide I want more in a few weeks… LOL, just kidding.
Yeah those french people are fast. I wish i liked hot lapping but i just cant wrap my head around doing it to much. I dont mind tuning but then after that i just want to go in to lobbies and race. Most races i get to pass everybody about 4 times before i finally get clear of all the garbage lol. 64 passes later finally got 1st place hahaaaa.
This has been one of the most enjoyable threads with friendly competition i have read in quite a while on these forums. will give this thing a go at some point. i keep saying that so my list is getting longer. hard to try climbing the leaderboards and testing cars.
I think everyone involved in this thread checked their ego at the door. Its more like we are simply rooting for each other to do well rather than getting salty about it. I could care less who beats me. All I want is to keep steadily improving and I’m happy as can be.
Now, if you’d excuse me, I have some rivals to go kick the… oops, pass on the LB
I just read that the update today corrected an issue with tunes not downloading correctly. I know several people here have downloaded this from my storefront. I’d imagine the car did not run well, because there were some pretty significant changes made to the front end in the tune that made a huge difference with the understeer. If you chose to download it rather than build it yourself, you probably need to download it again.
The update was slipped in with the car pack. Before Tuesday all locked and saved tunes had a flaw, the front settings were not loading. This has now been corrected, so you should delete and redownload any saved tunes you have, (unless you really liked them that way).
It also looks like the friends leaderboard problem has been fixed, it now loads and has the correct overall position (instead of just relative).
Lol lou. My challenger time was set in a lobby. A bit surprised it was a clean lap since that’s only a two lap race. Im scared to look at the replay because its probably laughable. The car is actually a leaderboard car that everyone forgets about. It is on par with the 90 camaro and Buick but just slightly off in handling. I don’t lose much in it.
If my disc works today I’d like to try the kia out. Some of the settings make me think the car might be a little stiff going through the middle of a corner but not necessarily in an understeering kind of way.
I will run it on indy gp since I know exactly how to get the most out of fwd on that track (though rarely can execute how I’d like). If I don’t hit #1, i’ll share my changes in full. In other words, i’ll be sharing lmao.
The first adjustment will be tire pressures. They look too conservative compared with what I use on fwd. Lol.
Well, bring it on, I’m very interested to hear what your opinions are and any changes you feel makes the car better. I never claimed it was perfect and very much welcome any and all suggestions on how to improve it.
