If you’re going forward and you do a straight 180, when you complete it and then use reverse to continue backwards, the brakes stop the car THEN the car continues backwards. I realize this isn’t real world realistic with an automatic transmission, but i think most drivers are on auto and it would be fun. Question though, does it work with manual, i haven’t tried I no try hard.
Not to compare, but similar to GTA, and of course the best movie ever made, Cobra.
The reverse situation of this (driving backwards, 180, drive forwards) used to be called a J-turn or a “Rockford” (Rockford Files TV show used it many times). With a controller, it’s a bit of a pain. If the car isn’t stopped completely, you have to button smash the downshift multiple times to get to reverse. It can be done with manual or manual/clutch, but it’s not easy.
I would say wheel users that have an H-pattern shifter can do this much easier as you can select any gear at any time (for the most part).
I believe J turn works correctly because you’re using brake/reverse THEN acc, and it has a different mechanic with the reversed input. I assume a good J turn isn’t possible with auto either, yet it’s possible. Should be possible going forward to backwards if you can go backwards to foreward. Anyway, that’s just a blast.
Imaging going forward but you have to do a 180 to shoot the bad guys out the window. Still not to compare, but when it rains in gta you can literally spin for like a quarter mile. Not so sure that’s realistic gotta see if some hoonigan has done it.
I hear ya, GTA allows for that as their physics are a bit more “vague” than something like Horizon or Motorsport. I learned how to do it in a manual car IRL, so I always refer to that.

I don’t quite understand why Forza’s “automatic” uses arcade setup, instead of making it drive like real world automatic: automatic down and upshift, manual switching between drive and reverse. Even Forza Motorsport does that!
