Does Active Aero actually apply downforce?

I was just wondering as I am tuning. Do the cars that have Active Aero like the Centenario and Senna and others actually apply any downforce or is the dumb looking Forza Spoiler only apply downforce? I mean the way the cars are built you would think that the Active Aero who apply more reliable downforce than a immobile Forza Spoiler. But then again this is Horizon.

I suspect not. This sounds like something you should be able to determine from looking at the telemetry.

I always assumed it added something, especially with braking on cars like the Senna. Maybe it is just my imagination. The cars that feature it tend to already have tremendous downforce in stock trim and you can usually make a competitive build without the Forza wing.

You do have active aero! For example. Applying the brakes midair with hypercars, the car will divebomb/flip over
