Note: The Swinger Edition Challenger was part of Dodge’s “Last Call” series and only 1000 examples were built to pay homage to the original 1970s Challenger Swinger model; color choices include F8 Green, White Knuckle, and Sublime
Transmission: 8-speed automatic w/paddle shifters (unlike the base Hellcat, the Redeye version does not have a 6-speed manual option)
Drivetrain: RWD
0-60: 3.4 seconds
Top speed: 203 mph (estimated/factory-limited)
Note: For those who are wondering, the Challenger Convertible is not built from the factory; they are instead made by Drop Top Customs, a Florida-based company that turns any car, most commonly muscle cars, into a convertible
Note #2: Customers who choose this conversion would work with Drop Top Customs and their local Dodge dealer to create it; this option was available to the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and all SRT models like the Hellcat, Hellcat Redeye, Super Stock, and Demon in widebody and non-widebody form
Top speed: 155 mph (estimated/electronically limited)
Note: The 50th Anniversary Challenger, offered as a special package on both V6 and V8 models, was built to pay homage to the original 1970 model; special features include specific “50th Anniversary” badging with seven different colors to choose from: TorRed, Go Mango, Hellraisin’, F8 Green, Frostbite, Sinamon Stick, and Gold Rush
The R/T Scat Pack would actually be a much more competitive option for A-class road racing than the Hellcats and Demon we have now. PG were onto something by offering a significantly less powerful engine swap option for the 2022 Super Stock, as it would allow for weight reduction upgrades to improve the handling (something a car like this could definitely use), but then fumbled the bag by making said engine the 6.2L LS3 instead of the 470 hp 6.4L V8 from the 2018 SRT Durango. Even so it wouldn’t feel right using a Chevy engine to downgrade a Hellcat into a home-made Scat Pack, with Hellcat badging still on the fenders.
The 5.7L R/T would also be a solid option for B-class road racing, we could definitely use more muscle car options down there.
