Do you have any experience with Forza and mods?

Hello all, once again I bring up a topic that probably has been discussed several times. But I couldn’t find a fitting topic. :upside_down_face:

Let’s start with the code of coduct.

The wording “unapproved modding” implies there is approved modding. Is there a statement on what is considered approved?
Are mods that don’t give you a (noticable) advatage allowed?
My main intention for asking is that I got a new hardware device, which needs mods to have all it’s functions available (force feedback).
Do you have any experience with topics like this? Have you ever been banned for adding hardware support with a mod?

I think there’s some UI mods that utilize the official telemetry out API and as such don’t modify the game files at all, just run an external app that provides an additional overlay. Would that provide what you need for your force feedback hardware?

Unless a moderator here says it ok and I think you should probably provide more detail, don’t do it.

Well, I guess I won’t get a statement like this. Also I left out the details to have a general question, ahich applies to others looking for answers.
In my specific case it’s about the adaptive triggers from a Flydigi Apex 4 controller.
To have that working their control center installs a mod in the game directory.

Risk it if you want. Do you want a lifetime ban? Trying to help you not get that. :man_shrugging:. Sounds like possible trouble to me. Maybe not since it’s just a controller. I don’t know but they can’t answer you without the details. If I were to somehow mod the game to make the old Xbox 360 wheel function they wouldn’t like that. They are generally referring to modifying game files to get money or make a car faster. Stuff like that. Send a PM to T10Manteomax to be sure. He’s the community manager.

While using data out to enhance your gaming experience shouldn’t run into trouble, there are no approved mods for Forza games. Discussions about mods are not only not relevant to Forza games, they potentially mislead and encourage community members to risk getting banned.

I will look at changing that header wording, but the text is clear: “This category covers offenses including, but not limited to” potentially any program that attempts to modify either the game files or directories, or modify game functions as it’s running.
