Code of conducts says: “This category covers offenses including, but not limited to: obtaining unreleased cars, modifying game files, running cheat tools alongside the game, fraudulent leaderboard entries, Auction House automated scripts, stream-sniping, piracy, and more.”
And on the first paragraph it states: “It is vital that the integrity of our games be upheld, and any evidence of cheating or manipulating the game to give oneself an advantage will be taken extremely seriously.”
Would i be banned for using mods purely for visuals? Not mods that will give me cars or money, just smalls tweaks like fixing the M3 E46 engine sound or just improving the game to my taste on a way that i won’t interfeer on the game’s mechanics. Or even don’t play online races at all, just keep myself to play on a convoy with friends using those visual mods. If i can get banned for using mods such as that, is there a deep explanation to why?
I’ve never heard a game that allows any mods while online, regardless of the mod’s nature.
I mod RDR2. I only mod for the single player. If I even touch the multiplayer, I’m getting banned. Some mods even have a built in feature that will crash the game if you attempt to play multiplayer just to protect you from a misclick.
Besides, allowed modified files would just allow for more avenues for cheaters, making cheat detection more difficult and laborious. I’d be extremely shocked if it were allowed.
I don’t know for sure though, so it’s possible. Just very unlikely.
Lol, cheat detection seems non existance in Forza. Leaderboards are full of them.
My wonder is at which point the visual mods are that relevant to make the devs really wanna investigate and get the ban hammer on you. In my point of view, its pointless since the game is filled with hackers and modded accounts, glitch abusers etc etc.
Should i be banned just because i want my car to sound nicer while players like i’ve just mentioned are still driving around with their cheats?
I know can’t answer that to me, i really just wanted this post to get some attention and try to make the devs a bit more soft when talking about mod. I am a enormous fan of Forza, i started on Horizon 2, now im 17 and this game made my childhood, seeing FH5 dying (Of old age) is awful to me, even more when i go to nexus mods and see the amazing content these guys are publishing. (I ment, Forza is dying not because of a lack of updates, no the devs are doing a phenomenal job at updating, but we all got enough of Mexico and many FH5 “vibes”, plus there are many improvements that we all wanted to see and are yet to be implemented.)
They never spent time on cars…no special customizations n all…just some aftermarket bodykits that’s it…no interior customizations…weight reduction option is used but nothing changes in the interior…so silly…look at carx street…they added custom steering wheel, custom seat, custom shifter n so on…when will u learn about cars?? When will u stop giving these silly eventlab props(not useful props like roads n few others), when will u stop giving these useless collectibles n focus on cars…what am i saying…hide n seek is coming…someday mario cart might also come…just disgusting!!
100%
These features PG is adding to the game are cool and all. But the true car features are just gone. Forza really went from a car game to a sandbox with cars, intead of blocky ppl.
I want to mod this game so badly, add a proper RB26 sound, have a transmission whine that i can actually hear and much more that could potentially be added if the game stoped trying to ban mods.
The dream would be a proper sandbox that not only can you build maps and tracks, but where you can build cars, physics, features, just like roblox or AC you could create a whole new game on Forza, or, improve on what we have.
Such a wasted potential of a game…
You can still do some stuff, not that they ban people for what you’re talking about but I can’t say it’s impossible.
Would be beyond dumb and lame if PGG did ban for it.
But they do tend to kill harmless fun…
Unfortunately PGG patched the directory used to replace visuals/audio which was really really fun and cool. Also, only client side, and didn’t do anything that was harming anyone. (ie- no hitbox changes if you modded a massive wide body just for example)
Kinda sad, as I think a lot of people really liked the audio mods that were just so mint, and massively improved their old audio that’s just not accurate in some cases.
Definitely miss being able to mix and match different parts like spoilers, swapping single exhausts, adding digital tachometers, interior seat, steering wheel swaps. Was all so cool and really made a lot of people happy just free-styling their dream builds that were realistic.
