I love tuning in all the Forza games and I am really looking forward to all the different race options that FH4 will give us (Off-road, wet, dry, grip speed, drag, drift etc etc.). I’m trying to work out if I should just build/tune for my own use or make available for everyone.
How many of you all will go to storefront or AH to buy tunes or cars for specific races or types of races and if you do what are you looking for?
I will never buy tunes or liveries, and I’ll always share them for free (more often liveries for me in both cases).
You cannot ‘buy’ tunes or liveries that others have created for credits … if that’s what you’re saying. Shared tunes and liveries are free for everyone. The only way to get one or both for a credit ‘purchase’ is to buy a car in the Auction House with a tune and a paint on it already.
Also the PTG folks are very good at creating great tunes for the cars. I have used them a bunch along with a few other tuners who I really like. I drive with a wheel and do very little tuning myself as the ones from the PTG group are always better than I make.
Remember when you get a shared tune you do have to pay for the parts.
I suppose you would still buy the parts if you upgraded it yourself. Unless you leave it stock I guess.
I think if you swapped out the word Buy for download in your first post, you’d be good sk15kev. It’s just a terminology thing but I get what you’re asking. I don’t think I’ve ever used a tuned car on a Horizon game I’ll be honest.
I think it’s because leaderboard position hasn’t every really mattered to me on Horizon, whereas on Motorsport games I will try and compete for times against friends and in HLC’s.
I’m sure there are those that do try and place competitive times, so if I was you I’d share them - it’ll help if you or someone has placed the tune high enough on the board to be visible to people looking, same as on FM games.
Sharing is caring… especially for folks like me that can’t tune to save their life.

I’d quite like to run a project car, where I create multiple build/tunes for one car and then once exhausted move on to another. I could become the one stop shop for VW Polo tunes, haha
If - looking more and more like when I get the game. I know HLR are looking to run HLC’s again - so might be in need of some tunes after all. . .
Well what a game, so many different scenarios to tune for. They are not going to need another FH game for a long time.
