Disc compatibility with One / S / X and Play Anywhere for digital

Pretty sure the Xbox One or One S version won’t be anything over 55-60 gigs. Max, 70. It’s the 4K textures that massively bloat the install space which is okay. Folks with expensive 4K TVs and Xbox One-X’s should be able to afford all the extra install real estate since the One-X comes in at the entry level with a 1TB drive. But I wonder if the OS occupies the same space as the one on the current consoles.

Either way, I might have to get an external too for my One. I’m eyeing Seagate and Digital Trends for now.

OS is the same for all Xbox Ones. The only difference is resolution. It’s similar to Windows 10 being the same regardless of your CPU and GPU. 4K TVs are becoming the norm now. If you browse the TV section at a Target or Best Buy the majority of screens are 4K and the prices are much lower than they used to be. It’s people who have bought a TV recently or will soon that will have 4K without paying a ton. Externals are cheap as well and if someone can afford a new Xbox One X they should be able to cover an extra $50 for an external if needed.

Im going to pre order on my Xbox one and want to be sure I can play it on my PC? I will not play the game on the Xbox ever. Do I need to pre order on the PC somewhere or just pre order on my X1?

I always thought that to get the Xbox and PC versions of the game you had to purchase directly from the Microsoft Store.

I have never tried using the feature where you buy 1 and play both on XB1 and PC. I was looking on Amazon and they offer the digital codes for both, XB1 and PC.
I assume that if I purchase from Amazon for the digital codes I just enter the codes on my Microsoft/Xbox account, am I correct?

I do want both versions.Im more of a PC gamer and only have Xbox for Forza games and a couple others.

Here is the one Im asking about, any info is appreciated.

Buying that will allow you to play on both PC and Xbox One.

Windows and Xbox Live are connected, so once you use a digital code on either system it will connect to your account enabling the Pay Anywhere.

Thanks for the answers.
I did a quick search to see if anyone else made a thread but nothing came up, I made my own thread and looks like mod merged it with one I didnt find.
I still appreciate the answers even though the start of this thread answered them.
Also thank you to all that didnt jump on me or get rude with replies after it was answered, some forums dont handle merged threads very good.

I noticed the game comes out in October, and the Xbox X comes out in November. Will there be separate discs for each console so you have to buy the game AGAIN once you buy the Xbox X?

No, the Xbox One X is not a new console, just an upgraded one. All copies of the disc will run on ALL Xbox One versions.

Gotcha, so its going to downscale itself by knowing its being played on a Xbox one console?

The easiest way to look at is this. Do you have an Xbox One X? If the answer is yes, then Forza 7 will be 4K/60fps. If the answer is no then Forza 7 will run at 1080/60fps. The only time there is down sampling is if you a have a One X, but are using a 1080p TV.

It’s actually the opposite. The regular version will install on all systems and then there will be a OneX enhancement upgrade that will only download and install on the OneX.

I looked through and couldn’t really find anything on this specific topic, so here goes -

Currently I have an original Xbox One and a 1080p TV. As it is now I have no plans to upgrade either my console or my TV and I plan on buying FM7.

If, say, 6 months from now I decide to upgrade and buy an Xbox One X and a 4K TV, will I have to buy another copy of the game for Xbox One X? I’m assuming “no” since Microsoft keeps everything in the cloud now, but I just want confirmation.

Thanks!

^Merged. I tried to cover this in the FAQ at the top of the forum - please let me know if I can rewrite it to better address the question.

My bad, ManteoMax. Looks like my searching skills lead quite a bit to be desired.

Thanks!

Yes, and you will need to buy it directly from me. Cash only. Meet me out back.

One copy will work across all Xbox Ones. If you put it on an external all you will need to do is unplug from your old machine and plug it into the new console. From there it should detect the Xbox One X and download the 4K assets to augment the game for the new system.

No problem, but have a look, I want to make sure I make it as easy as possible to read and find what people are looking for and any suggestions users want to give me I’ll use to improve it.

You’ll need to buy the digital version from the Microsoft Store.
