Disappointed

I think your right. The menus are slower than FM4. Ive mentioned it to others, and heard others complaining about it.

I don’t really paint, so it doesn’t really bother me, but can definitely see why people are frustrated by it. I dont think they are really frustrated about it being slow, more that they are frustrated about it being slower than the predecessor.

My main disappointment, as mentioned above by another person, is the wreckers online. It bemuses me why people do it. Maybe something to do with the game being bundled in with the console? They never paid £40+ to enjoy the game, so don’t appreciate the game like myself and likeminded players do.

Do what I do, just keep blocking! I’ve blocked quite a few people, and as far as I can tell I’ve never been grouped with them again. When I get into a good lobby I try to stay in it. I’m not sure about the bundle idea. Perhaps initially, but I don’t think they’d stick with the game for long.

Personally, I can live with less cars and tracks because I understand that their old assets just weren’t going to cut it for this gen. I would prefer to see the bulk of them come back as free content, as if it were supposed to be there in the first place, but I’m not complaining about the car packs. Unlike past FM games, though, I haven’t purchased the season pass because I don’t feel like the value is there.

I haven’t noticed the slow-downs and glitches that some people are mentioning, either. It seems about on-par with FM4’s performance to me.

What I do find disappointing, though, is the backwards steps the interface and navigation has taken. There are certain changes I like… seeing all the cars by default rather than having to navigate by mfg, for example. But I am really bothered by the fact that 4 months after release we still have a Coming Soon marketplace tile, the lack of tuning options in the pre-race screen, and the inability to get back to the menus after a series race. If you jump into a series with a car that needs any adjustments between races, you have to wait for the next race to completely load up, then Quit back to the menu, change your tuning setup, then resume the series and sit through the loading all over again. In past FM’s, every pre-race screen had a tuning menu… I can’t be the only one who used it.

I was also one of the few people (i guess?) who used and REALLY enjoyed the kinect head tracking in FM4, and they completely nerfed the level of control you had over it in this one… i was really looking forward to better tracking with the new kinect. this is much worse.

Overall, I think it’s a fine effort as a launch game - developing on hardware that’s not finalized can’t be easy - but it also took steps backwards in areas that I really can’t understand.

I know it sucks. My number one thing is there is no clubs or overall leaderboars. it feels like they didnt finish the game. Forza 4 best forza ever made.
