And yet, many other game companies, including indie companies can get it right…
Just an example Rockstar Games uses a sort of hack ON KERNEL LEVEL for GTA V. The devs use tricks and sometimes it works right and sometimes it doesn’t. I read about that in the GTA forums years ago.
I have been streaming for 4 years and have never had any problems in games other than performance which was promptly resolved by lowering my quality in the game.
I’ve been streaming FM8 since day one and until March everything was ok (yes, some game performance problems have been resolved and only a couple of times some details disappeared), I don’t get tired of repeating it, for more than a month now Today I have these track disappearing problems.
In summary, I think OBS is not the problem, even if in 2024 the Forza series cannot be “captured in game” but only “screen” or “window”, 99.9% of my PC isn’t and I’ve already tried all the solutions described here on the forum and insistently searched elsewhere…there remains only an indecent porting which needs to be fixed as soon as possible. (even before now).
Yeah well at some point there are no solutions anymore anyway. I mean at some point you really tried it all.
For me the game works fine on my mainrig and my laptop. It probably would also run on my old rig that is a i7-4930K, GTX 1070, 32 GB DDR3 2133 MHZ RAM, installed on Samsung 840 EVO Sata SSD. It’s a computer from the stone ages and i bet the game would run on it. I just don’t know why that is. Well maybe it wouldn’t because the minimum requirement is an i5-8400.
If one person can get the game running on 3 machines but others can’t get it running on one machine, well that is just weird. I just don’t understand why it doesn’t run right for you ppl.
Edit: Out of curiosity i will install the game on my old rig. I wanna know if it runs or not. Maybe i can’t even start it.
try it and let us know…
In the meantime, I’m trying to make changes on the OBS side by capturing the game in another way and eliminating some overlays such as MSI afterburner
I tested it on my old rig and I didn’t get dissapearing track, I even made a short video showing how it runs. Well it’s all set to low, 1080p etc. it looks like a blurry mess and judders and stutters. And after I stopped recording the game crashed in a loadscreen. But yeah as I said no dissapearing track. That CPU is 4 generations behind the minimum requirements. The GTX 1070 probably could have done medium to high settings, but I didn’t wanna spend time figuring it out and just set it to the lowest.
I also couldn’t use g-sync because that rig is connected to my TV that only support g-sync if I connect a HDMI 2.1 device. The GTX 1070 still has HDMI 2.0a I think.
I also had to optimize the shaders everytime I started the game. I never had that problem on my main rig or laptop. Maybe it’s a Windows 10 issue, because my other 2 computers have Windows 11.
I don’t know how you tested for the disappearing track, this is my info:
- single player/career → works well
- online multiplayer game → works well
- private multiplayer game → track disappears (always sessions in last month)
the problem is that the track disappears randomly, it can be after 10 laps like 2 corners, we have also tried with several people acting as hosts but nothing works…I almost doubt that the "too much rubber on the ‘asphalt’ can create this, I don’t know.
anyway here are my benchmarks
OBS RUN
OBS OFF
Do you have things set to “Automatic”? If yes set it to high, medium or whatever not “Auto”.
And you should use 16x Anistropic Filter, there is no point using 8x on PC. This doesn’t really cost you any performance but looks much better.
in “auto” I have nothing, some settings in “high” / “medium” / “low” but “auto” nothing.
ok I also try x16 filte
Yeah well i don’t know what language that is. Italian I guess.
yep!
And I thought you have dissapearing track in all modes. Well then there must be an issue specifically with the private multiplayer.
that’s what I’ve been trying to say for a long time auhahu.
ok at least we understand each other now!
just to keep you updated, I found a video where it explains how to disable the TAA in game, this is promised in the future update but it is a deliberately hidden function, no one knows why, however since I deactivated this my track is not ’ no longer disappeared.
could it be a coincidence?!?
Anyone who has this problem on PC can maybe try it and let us know.
you can find the video/explanation on YT, I don’t put the link here because I don’t think it’s appropriate.
2 posts were split to a new topic: Track flickering/disappearing
Track disappeared in S class first race.
You use SSD, NVMe or HDD?
PC or console?
I’d really like to know what Turn10 think may cause this issue, I haven’t had it happen in a race but see it sometimes in the welcome screen to a race
I think it has something to do with low V-RAM and slow CPU and storage.
Surely after all this time Turn10 must have an idea and it would solve alot of head scratching if they came to the party and gave their opinion
