I am installing the anniversary update for windows 10 as I type this. When it is done, I shall check the store for the pc version as Microsoft stated it would be there. I shall keep you guys posted with what I find.
Well, anniversary update installed, no forza horizon 3 in the windows store. In the Xbox app it is not there either (under windows games). One can find forza horizon 3 under Xbox one games still, with a little difference. The purchasing services are down at the moment so maybe we need to wait for a bit. Fingers crossed, I shall keep you posted.
Well guys, bad news. It seems they are not done setting (some pf it is glitchy) it up in the store at the moment. The xbox variants are there, but you can’t purchase them, while the windows store one is not there at all.
I tested purchasing with a game already released on both platforms, (quantum break and gears of war) and that takes me to the windows store. When you try purchase an xbox game you are told that we are waiting an update to the xbox app so the game you bought will only work on consoles on the preview program.
So looks like we need to wait for an update to the xbox app, as well as the game to be released to the windows store (like what happened with apex). So fingers crossed again
Hi, first time posting here. Looking forward to Horizon 3 on PC. I’ve got 1 and 2 on 360 but don’t own an xbox1. I pre-ordered shortly after the announcement. Did the Anniversary update yesterday and now the game shows up in the Windows store under My Library, but only shows as being available on xbox at the moment with the install button greyed out. Just wanted to add this info in case it was helpful. I’m in Canada, if that matters.
I pre ordered FH3 on Xbox/Windows 10 Live on my PC. No money has been withdrawn from my bank account and I got no email on my purchase? Now I’m wondering is it just pending and will it let me downloaded it closer to the release date? It does say You already own a copy of this tittle and can only have one when i try to buy it aging? But I’m still not sure if i bought it from the right place? Then there is talk that you need to download it on Xbox then its transferable to PC??? If thats the case why have it on PC in the first place! Though I’m pretty positive this is not the case as Apex was downloaded though the windows store. Also for cars that are exclusive to certain stores such as Games-Stop, Best-buy ect… How do we PC users get that bonus car if you can only download the game from Xbox live?
I’m just shocked. So much time after the announcement, two months and still nothing official here. Who can give us a simple answer on simple question: how can PC version be pre-ordered? Without any XBOX related manipulations! Just from our windows 10 store directly.
It’s searchable in the Windows 10 store, it just reverts to the Xbox.com store page. That’s how you order digitally, which will give you rights to play it on PC at release. Obviously there will need to be more information about downloading nearer to release, but it’s not that urgent right now is it?
The thing is that when you pre-order there it says that it works only for xbox console. And also, when you pay for the ultimate edition(for example) you also pay for some VIP status, extra cars etc, which is only for xbox version as well. Why do I need that VIP status if I play on PC. I don’t want to pay for what I won’t be using.
Those features aren’t just for Xbox only, they are for the PC as well. You will be able to use VIP and the extra cars on both systems. i think they said awhile ago that the games will be identical.
I don’t know why the store lists it only for Xbox but that’s partly why I’m getting it through either Game or Amazon. But if you get the digital version, you get exactly the same game and features on both systems ,dependent on which you buy, standard, deluxe or ultimate.
As the other poster says, that refers to resolution, fps, maybe lighting, other graphical features etc etc. The PC version will have more options to tune how the game looks. Just like Apex did over FM6.
But the game itself will be exactly the same, it has to be or crossplay wouldn’t work.
Its about graphical things the content 100% will be the same because xbox one and pc users will be able to play in same lobby so how you imagine this when the content is different? Also I suspect u are using xbone and trying to play it off since fh3 is not exlusive already
Well first of all you need an Xboxlive Account connected to the Windows store. I’m not sure, but if you download the Xbox App and sign into your Xboxlive Account This should be the case. I think when they Release the download (propably last week before the Release) it will be downloaded automatically, as it does for online bought DLC’s. So just buy the digital version online with your Account and that’s it. I for example pre ordered it on ‘store.xbox’.
As I thought about it, I would like to have said game on just the PC this time. Main reason is that I would like to see a Horizon game in 60 FPS for once.

I just bought the game like i was going to buy it for Xbox. I went to Xbox.com and bought it, easy as this. When it’s closer to launch, the game will appear on our PC Store List to download
