So, I do not own an xbox one because i wasn’t happy with the poor performance and have switched to pc. I was just wondering if i can buy this game through xbox store app on my pc and not need an Xbox one. Also i was wondering if I’ll need gold to play co-op on pc.
I believe the answer to both your questions is yes.
The truth is that so far all we have to go on is what was said at the E3 Press Briefing a couple of days ago which was very little indeed. I think you’re going to have to wait for a reliable answer to these questions.
Edit: Looks like you just have to buy it on your Xbox Live account and download it onto your Windows machine.
So i used to play every forza game on xbox 360 up until horizon 2 and forza 4. around that time, i got into PC gaming and abandoned console gaming. Allways wanted to play forza, but 400 dollars for forza wasn’t justifiable for me.
So at E3 this year, forza horizon was announced for XB1 and Windows 10. Im very excited about it coming to windows finally. I have a couple questions on how the Muliplatform thing works (Just to clarify if you didnt get it, i dont own an xbox one) though. I believe the game would be launched through the xbox app, no? Do i have to own an xbox one to be able to play it on PC, or can i play the game with just windows? How does the whole thing work? Do you need xbox live gold to play forza online on PC, or is it like all other PC platforms where multiplayer is free?

According to this article, XBoxLive Gold is only required on the XBox One.
I suppose youll launch it as its own app, just like Forza Apex.
Pretty sure you dont need to own a xbox one, but youll likely need a Live account (which you can set up on PC). Make sure to be logged in with the right account if you buy it.
Xbox Live Gold … no clue tbh., but I guess it will be the same for both versions, if you need gold on xbox for something it will be required on PC too. Just my guess.

First I would like to thank you guys for making my dream come true, I have been waiting 11 years for forza to come to pc and it finally here.
The reason I am writing this post is because I would like to know when the PC pre-order will be available in the windows store, only after the anniversary update? As all I can see are pre order for the xbox and even in the threads here nobody has actually asked that hence me making a new thread.
I know it is part of the play anywhere initiative, but just like the other post I do not own an xbox one nor am I in a region where I can use the xbox store (I am in Namibia), there for buying it from there is not an option.
If it is not available in the windows store like quantum break currently is, will there be physical copies for pc?

Okay, i want to pre-order the ultimate edition for this game on PC,
I will quickly say i own a xbox 360 but never owned xbox live i only created a online account to get the GTA returning content but i never tocuhed online again after that for my xbox because i love my PC! 
Anyway, so to pre-order this game…
Do i buy it off the web-site xbox store and then use the xbox app on my windows 10 to download it? or something.
I am finding it really confusing why cant they just have PC sold separate. i am worried if i buy the £79.99 edition that it be waste of money if its just xbox 1 version because i do not own one.

Is there a wait time for the Meguire car pack (Forza 6) and rockstar car pack? I just pre-ordered the deluxe edition and it says I should get them.
I pre-ordered the Ultimate edition and got both packs as soon as I paid. Just go into FH2 and FM6 and the packs will be free when you click on them 
Also, if you buy Forza Horizon 3 from a third party such as GameStop then you can redeem the code into your Xbox Live account once the code becomes available using this link:

And then you can download it to your Xbox One/Windows 10 PC using the Xbox store or the Windows 10 store.

I am going to buy it using xbox cards and redeem the codes on my computer using the https://account.xbox.com/en-GB/PaymentAndBilling/RedeemCode but, if i had money on here when i pre-order forza Horizon 3 on https://store.xbox.com/en-GB/Xbox-One/Bundle/Forza-Horizon-3-Ultimate-Edition/bf4296c8-eaf2-440e-aebe-5359e058b7cf it shows only credit card option. if i had money via a xbox card will it show up other options?

I bought it from the Microsoft page, i better get my PC preload as they said i would because that’s why i payed 100$ for, otherwise i’m going to return this piece of false advertising crap. I don’t own an xbox one to download any files and why would they even sell an ultimate edition via microsoft store if you can’t get the stupid preload on anything other than an xbox one? i will give it one more week or i’m returning this piece of crap.
Have they said you’d get the preload this early?
I wouldn’t be expecting it until maybe the week before early access starts. It’s way too early to get it now, I doubt the game has even been finalised, as it’s still two months away.
I dont own an xbox one but i have a pc with windows 10. If i buy the game from the xbox store can i play it on pc ?
From what I can work out you buy the game Digitally redeem it on the Xbox website and it will appear on Your Xbox one (if you have one) and under “My Library” on Windows Store and will also appear in your Xbox App for both PC and Xbox (if you have an Xbox)

and I got this email which shows you will need to redeem the game through Xbox Website
So I don’t think It will appear in the Windows Store as its available Digital Everywhere already and will automatically appear under “My Library” on Windows Store when released or at least that what I have worked out
Yep, buy it on the Xbox Store (not the Microsoft store) and it will show up in the windows store on your Windows 10 PC. Or you can buy a digital code from a participating retailer and redeem it on Xbox.com.

Just to add to this, I believe that the ‘Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update’ is the one that’s arriving in early August. So you might want to make sure you are up-to-date and sorted a fair time before you download FH3 or try to play it. Last thing you want is to find a huge update is needed on release day.
