Pre-Ordering PC version with PayPal/Debit Card

I know this has been asked numerous times before, it just seems that there’s no accessible way to pre-order/buy FH3 for PC, especially not with a Debit Card or PayPal.

This link:
http://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/forza-horizon-3
says Xbox One and Windows 10, but when you click on “Pre-Order”, it says Console: Xbox One

This link:

only offers a credit card as a payment option:

So why not release it on the Microsoft Store already? I would like to pre-order it with PayPal/Debit Card for PC, and there seems to be no option to do so.
If it was on Steam, none of this misleading nonsense would pose a problem.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Microsoft Store sells physical items, and FH3 isn’t getting a physical release on PC. If you want to use debit/PayPal just buy Xbox gift cards. You can even find them for 10-20% off.

Pre-ordering from the “Console: Xbox One” link is buying a digital edition; if you buy digital, you will own the PC version via Play Anywhere.

Look for an update to the Windows Store on August 2nd:

Thanks for the info and the links, very helpful!

Will wait until 2/8!

When it says credit card your debit card should still work. It’s more of a ‘cover all’ term these days instead of writing both. I only have a debit card and I’ve often used it on places that only state credit card.
Also, have you considered looking at other sites to get FH3? Something like Amazon or whatever your local game sites are?
I’m in the UK so I can’t help you much with that but Amazon UK has PC digital downloads for all versions and so does Game. They both accept debit cards.

Thanks for replying and offering to help mate. I live in Greece, so I don’t have any options like Amazon or Game.co.uk.

If it doesn’t show up in the Windows Store by mid-august, I’ll see if I can use my debit card, or get someone with a credit card to buy it for me.

Sorry for being off topic but I am half English and half Greek and I live here too! Τι κάνεις;

My Gamertag is Ozi Sum if you would like to add be on XBox dash or something. I only own a PC though.

Have you bought FH3 yet?

It’s up to you of course but you can use Amazon from a different country. I’ve used the US, Canadian and French sites on numerous occasions. Greece is part of their Amazon Global service so you are covered. And as you’re after the digital version, you won’t be paying postage and packaging either. But I’d be very, very surprised if the Windows Store didn’t accept your debit card.

As far as I know buying for example from US/UK store you cannot activate outside of these countries? Or I am wrong?

The digital versions are globally universal. So it doesn’t matter where you’re from,or what location you might buy it from, you still have access to,the digital version for downloading.

So, let’s say you’re in Greece on holiday now, and you order it from say a UK site and it’s digital version, and it’s an Ultimate Edition, when you return home in say Australia, you can simply log on on September the 24th (our time -23rd U.S. Time) and download the digital version.

Digital is now global, not regional. Which is one of the huge reasons for digital downloading being pushed do hard by developers these days.

OZ.

I have installed the Windows 10 Anniversary Update and I can now see Forza Horizon 3 in my library but it says it is incompatible with my PC and cannot be pre-downloaded. Has anyone else been able to pre-download FH3 onto their PC yet?

From my understanding with pre-ordered games from Turn 10/ MS, is that a ‘Placecard File’ is die loaded first, it’s several hundred M’Bank in size, could well even be smaller… Less than a normal monthly CUs.

It holds the files needed for activating the files on Turn 10’s servers and once the game hits it’s release time, the file recognises that and ashes you to instigate the full download.

It’s been the same with the Xbox mate. When you purchase the pre-order, you get a Placecard file, NOT the game.

So that’s probably why it’s not showing up on your computer properly. Secondly, you may need to download certain updates before your actual computer is compatible with what the game needs. Head over to the Apex Support forums.

Check with some of the moderators or support team members over there. Give them your exact computer details regarding full hardware and software specs. They can tell you if you need certain things in order for it to work.

That’s your best bet to find out what’s going on with your computer. Set up your software etc.

Can you run a software checker so you see if there’s any conflicts going on? Just a thought??

Hope you locate the issue. You’ll probably find its only a conflict that’s causing the issues.

Oh, and another thing I found helps occasionally. Do the same as we do with the Xbox One for a Harx Reset. Not saying it’ll fix anything, but I’ve heard it can clean out some hidden cookies or whatever they are (yes, don’t know that much about PCs) and that often helps, occasionally…

Let’s us know how you go mste…

Try the Apex Support forums, ok…

I think my best bet will be to wait a bit until my PC updates and it gets closer to release date, after all it is just a pre-download so I can be patient and wait. Thanks for your help OZ.

No worries mate. My advice, for what it’s worth, would be to do the updates, then get it sorted at least one to two weeks before Early Access.

That way you won’t be barraged by conflicts that could come up on release, and ultimately causing a huge crash. (The dreaded blue screen…is that still a thing lol???)

I can guarantee you that come early access day, my there’s going to be some huge online issues with PCs. I’d put a solid $1k on it… No arguments. It’s almost a 110% certainty.

It’s unenviable that there’ll be issues, huge issues for some. Especially seeing that this is THE FIRST REAL public test out ‘in the wild’.

So if it was me, I’d be making sure my computer was sorted as best I could before D Day (download day) and then really kick into Apex for those final weeks, seeing if there’s any conflicts while online actually playing the game.

Remember, Apex is the beta test for Horizon and Forza Motorsports 7 (?), so playing that will show you any conflicts, hardware issues, thus making sure the Graphics card/s are working fine, that your CPUs are managing when fully extended in a big online race etc.

I’m no PC user as you know, I’m a Mac User. So I’ll be setting up a Power Mac i7 dual quad core to run through my TV.

But back to you. Do try and get a handle on it well before.

Nothing is more frustrating than having huge issues right when you want to be racing and having some well earned fun.

Yeah, good thinking. I already play apex and it works perfectly, I will wait a week and then fix any problems I still have. Really looking forward to Horizon 3, sounds like the perfect game of any kind to me at the minute.

Hey guys, I posted my tests in another thread and decided to share what I found here, as I am trying to get this game for my pc and do not ha e access to the xbox store:

Well guys, bad news. It seems they are not done setting (some pf it is glitchy) it up in the store at the moment. The xbox variants are there, but you can’t purchase them, while the windows store one is not there at all.

I tested purchasing with a game already released on both platforms, (quantum break and gears of war) and that takes me to the windows store. When you try purchase an xbox game you are told that we are waiting an update to the xbox app so the game you bought will only work on consoles on the preview program.

So looks like we need to wait for an update to the xbox app, as well as the game to be released to the windows store (like what happened with apex). So fingers crossed again

its a work in progress as they say, sadly you’re the one waiting, as are many others.

One would think that they’d have it rectified by now with Gears 4 on the shelves/download etc. like all things MS, it comes when they are ready, not before.

So like you say, and others, Paitence is now needed, checking regularly for OS and software updates.

Do check and make sure all non essential cookies, programs you never use or will use are gotten rid of. Those things have your system doing loops (cookie power repeater) no matter what you do, so clear out and up everything you can think of.

And any surplus apps or full programs you never use, or are not required for YOUR daily use, or ever will be used, get rid of them.

If you’ll never use them, dump them. Not sure if PCs still do the whole de-frag thing and reformat etc? If so, then do it a few times to ensure you’ve stacked your programs, OS and apps in as orderly patterns as humanly possible.

I’m told this helps stop your computer from breaking up your programs and laying stuff randomly across you HDDs. Again, not sure if this is still the case with ultra modern Win10!PCs? It’s worked for me over the last few decades with a variety of computers.

The more room you have to manoeuvre (digitally), the smoother your computer will function. A clean mind (HDD) and clean house, will give you better functionality in the long term.

A second well proven tip I’ve followed since being given it by an avid computer tech wiz, is ALWAYS do at the least a monthly housecleaning services on your entire computer (meaning defray-sorting out, virus check etc etc) and if being used solidly, then do it every two weeks.

This apparently helps keeps the gremlins away, makes sure things are all in order, and that there’s no build up of surplus cookies, foreign apps etc etc lurking about just waiting to jump out at the mist I opportune time.

It seems to have worked well for me over the years, and my mates comp is always running smoothly.

Just some odd tips that may, or may not work or be of use…?

Chatted with support they said that forza horizon 3 on windows 10 is just on creating stage, they are slowly developing it and it will not show on both windows store ant xbox app until they done with the game.He confirmed that the game will have same green line just like apex cover [ xbox live on top ] and will be support by both of consoles and this will be mentioned on description

Thanks for the feedback, fingers crossed and waiting
