Yes there is a timing condition that you can test in races that is different to in free roam. I don’t know how you are stopping you car from rotating in Open Racing, it is common.
That might have to do with me never (or rarely) playing Open Racing. I only really play solo.
However, I do play trials and have never encountered issues there.
Probably because a Cross Country trial will be very rare.
I have never noticed this in Cross Country in solo or co-op mode though.
However, both your findings and mine are anecdotal and your explanation of it is based on assumption.
If this indeed only happens online (with multiple players) any problems you encounter could also have something to do with connection lag… Maybe me being on PC makes everything better
There are just too many variables.
The same variables as for everyone else. I’m on a top PC, one of the best you can get. You don’t play much that is the variable.
I think it is what it is and to be honest there isn’t that much of a difference, I have driven in identical races in solo in the very same car and sometimes the car will do things unexpected compared to another time when it behaves as expected but its not enough to actually make much difference, maybe it is just me perceiving as different when in reality it isn’t.
The first 4 posters noticed a difference, and you also perceived a difference… logically that means that there is a difference. The other poster says he doesn’t play much online. That’s like 90% proof.
On top of that 90% I know what the programming is doing, and have coded this myself… that’s 95% proof.
Like I said a slight difference and not all the time, so server lag or whatever could be a factor for online, as for solo it might be something else. Maybe it could be setting variable’s coming into play too, but anyway I’m not going to worry about it too much it doesn’t really prevent me from playing.
I take it you are not a scientist
edit: I HOPE you are not a scientist
I am a scientist…lol. I have an online science site.
No, you are kidding me right?
No, but you aren’t a scientist.
May it be you all just experienced the effect of dirty air? It was a lot stronger before Update 6 and decreased downforce quite substantially leading to weaker performance.
Other than that I’ve not encountered any difference between freeroam and races.
No, but if the post I replied to above is serious I am a better scientist than you… which is even more disturbing… Because I am indeed not a scientist!
It wasn’t inaccurate. The first 4 posters noticed a different, you don’t play online, and the other guy wasn’t sure. where is that inaccurate?
The only strange thing is that you are arguing about it when you only do trials.
It is inaccurate because:
- It’s only 4 people, and also a biased group (people will likely be more attracted to this thread and wanting to post in it if they encountered something similar)
- All ‘evidence’ provided is anecdotal
- Even between those 4 there is no clear consensus on what the problems are they encounter
As in my earlier post I am not saying that this all is not true. There is just no evidence provided for it.
You’re the one behaving biased however, as you only play trial, and are trying to over rule everyone else.
I’m a games programmer, and you are also trying to over-rule that element as well. Plus I play races 40 times a day, and I’m in the top 1% of pretty much everything in the game.
All irrelevant.
Please, focus.
The fact that you are a game programmer does help with finding theories we could explore though.
And again: I have not made a claim about it being true or not. I have just said there is currently no evidence.
I have explained the evidence to you as a rotation with a delay when jumping. You are ignoring the evidence.
