Did you guys take the steering wheel out of the cars?

Nah, that`s no problem, other games have done it before.

(just random stuff I googled)

I personally don’t need steering wheel and hands to enjoy the game, anyway you still have the cockpit cam if you can’t live without.

That’s fantastic that you are happy with the current camera-options, it really is, but would it kill you to have one more options in the game to please more Forza players, other then yourself?

After all it seems like such a small thing to ask for, and for Turn 10 to add, but it would mean a great deal to me, and Im sure, many other Forza players.

And the best part, people like you who allready seems pleased with the current settings, wouldn’t suffer ONE BIT if they added that option.

=)

To be honest i don’t really need that option… instead they should focus on more important aspect of the game…

I like some of the F1 angles but I’m weird like that.

From what I’ve seen, the difference between the “dash cam” and the “cockpit view”…is that the “dash cam” has the camera IN FRONT OF the arms/hands/steering wheel. Please, tell me I’m not the only one who sees that? So, uh, you CAN’T very well have the “dash cam” with the arms/hands/steering wheel. If you did, the camera would be, I don’t know, INSIDE the steering wheel? You want to play the game with nothing but a black screen? Put on a blind fold, and you’ll have it your way…

Kdogg - I’d love to be able to use a “rooftop/airbox/camera pod” view, especially if we get F1 cars to drive. That was my preferred view on the recent F1 machines in any F1 game, while I used the cockpit view for cars from the 80’s or older. The new F1 cars have too many antennae and ‘aiming stakes’ or whatever for me to be able to drive from the cockpit view, while the older cars had clean fronts I could see over. “Just what I want to see as I’m driving down the road; a big floppy d—…”

Don’t be silly, we ask for something similar to this view., where the top of the wheel is visible without blocking the view.

It should be freely adjustable as in PCars, why is that so hard to grasp for T-10?

That view looks to be further back and higher up than the dash cam we’ve seen thus far in FM7. By the way, I did look at that link, and do recognize that screenshot.

And, like so many others, I still don’t see the point in having two views pretty much exactly the same, the only difference being that the camera is positioned a foot away from where it was a moment ago.

Now, if they were to implement a customizable POV/FOV, that would be fantastic. That would take care of your desires, as well as mine, as well as everyone else. It’s been asked for time and time again, too.

My biggest issue with what you keep asking for, though, is that the wheel and hands you want to see, obstruct the gauges that you should be able to see, instead. Yeesss, we have the in-game HUD we can use instead, but we ought to be able to use the gauges in the cars, and not have to rely on the game’s “altered reality” HUD. Any and all in-car views should support the use of the in-car gauges, more importantly than whether or not the arms/hands/wheel are present.

Jeez, focus on more important stuff? Im asking for an option to be able to have the new dashboard cam with or without the steering wheel, not for Turn 10 to reinvent the wheel. Im sure there is enough time to focus on all the other parts, it shouldn’t be that hard to implement. =/

Agree, customizable POV/FOV would be the best option, doubt we will get that though.

Im not necessarily asking for another camera angel, when I look at the new dashboard-camera it looks like the steering wheel is missing, I’m sure it would be possible to keep the same camera and add the top of the steering wheel (as an option mind you, and be able to toggle wheel on/off for that view in the menu).

If you are concerned about the steering wheel blocking the view for the gauges, then don’t use that view with the steering wheel visible, let me worry about that.

Seriously, I wonder why some of you people even argue about adding this option? If you don’t want it, don’t use it, simple as that, it won’t affect you. But for me and other pad-players who wanna use the new dashboard-camera WITH AN STEERING WHEEL VISIBLE, it would add a great deal to the immersion if Turn 10 added an option to be able to toggle the steering wheel on/off for that specific camera. Is that really that hard to understand and stand behind, even if you personally don’t need it?

To me its actually the Forza dash-view that looks a bit further back in comparison. But thats quite hard to say from a few short clips, and would depend on the car as well.

If you dont like obstructed gauges you are in luck, because the option without hand/wheels is already in. An additional option to display the wheel wouldnt change a thing about that.
My priority would be a view that is less obstructed by car interior than the classic cockpit view. Ideally without a part of the car missing.

We`re in agreement about a customizeable POV though, of course that would be good for everyone.
But since I doubt Turn10 will do that I can at least hope for a simple show/hide wheel switch in the menu.

I’m not sure why you bother arguing this to such an extent. At this point the game is in its final beta stages and the views we have now will most likely be the ones in the final release. Add it to the wishlist and hope it gets in the game last minute or in FM8.

Well, at least we put it out there. And I doubt if its getting implemented in FM8 either. Perhaps T10’s obsession with a large amount of cars up front is to blame for that. Either way, the cockpit view with its current animations is a deal breaker for me. I’ve been using external views in all previous and current Forzas all along.
