The default sorting system in any creative hub catagory should be “by latest” to show the newest tunes, liveries, photos, etc.
The current problem with the system sorting by most popular is that a small portion of creators get ahead and suddenly they have hundereds of thousands (if not millions) of downloads while everyone else has less than 10. This is worsened by those that have external followings on social media who can get followers from elsewhere to get them ahead. You can see this to some extent when you use the search function since people generally want some design and will just go for the first one; the first few (one to 3 maybe) will always have a few thousand, the next might have high hundereds, then from there they taper off down below 100 almost regardless of how many entries there are.
By changing the default sorting to “by latest”, you will allow many of the casual players who dont spend long searching to download what people have just released instead of something that already has 2 million downloads. Sure add alternate sorting, maybe it can cycle from latest → oldest → popular → least popular, I think that would allow some amount of spread among downloads.
