So I’ve found out that when I put a decal on my Porsche 944 (for example on the hood) the decal won’t be on the middle of the car, even if x is 0.

I have also seen recently where a few special liveries for Indy Cars are over laid on top of the game’s manufacturer coloring. Example, red bull logos just over laid on a silver Verizon Car. I quit out and restarted and the red bull livery was corrected. A few races later the same error occurred, red bull logos over a visible Verizon manufacturer livery.
BMW FE is the same and any work you do on the Mercedes Truck can show both at times as a blend or either design just depends on which way the wind is blowing.
Sounds like how they’ve mapped the top of the car may be out slightly. If you can’t centre it by eye, try stretching a square basic shape until it’s just a long thin line, then line that up with the Porsche badge on the hood and see how far off centre that now is. Then adjust the positioning of your layer group accordingly.
If you’re new to painting, you’ll find other little things like using insert right to left often isn’t placing layers in exactly the same place on the other side of the car, making lining up designs awkward. With practice/ use, you just get used to working around these little quirks.
Good luck.
Any more questions about painting, try posting in the livery/ paint booth section - loads of helpful painters about, willing to give assistance to new painters.
Yeah the mapping is off on several cars, and even the ones is not “so bad” on are off-set at least 1-4 units from the centerline on the roofs. Some body panels mappings are in the -100 ranges on a few cars.
Yeah, I’ve seen it too. The Audi RS3 has this problem too.
