Dashboard tach and HUD tach don't agree

I almost always drive using the cockpit view. I also use the dashboard tachometer to determine when to shift. I find it more natural to glance down than to glance down and to the right.

I have been driving the 1997 Mitsubishi GTO. I have noticed the tach on the dashboard doesn’t agree with the HUD tach. The dashboard tach show 1000 rpm faster. I thought this may have been due to upgrades I installed. I went back to the stock settings and did a test drive. The difference remained.

I haven’t driven a lot of cars, ~50, and some only a few laps. Has anybody else noticed a difference between the dashboard tach and the HUD tach?

yes, I notice this also.

It’s like that with the 2000 Cobra R also. In real life the speedometer doesn’t move until you hit 20mph, but in Forza it moves right off the bat leading to a big difference in HUD speed.

I noticed that too, but I thought that might have been because I swapped engines and so for the sake or it “matching”, the tach in the cock pit view would be off in comparison to the HUD one…Idk…

I notice it too on just about any car that I use, stock or modded. I also like to glance at the cockpit tach instead of the HUD in the corner. Small annoying nuisance. I have learned to shift by sound now instead of glancing. Works much better for me. Thank god for my 7.2 Setup

This happens commonly in cars with the engine’s changed.

Check the Honda civic Type R 1997, its so wrong.
