Damper question

can some one please help with a damper question i have when installing race parts the dampers settings seems to match the weight ratio of the cars as in soft at rear and harder on fronts on rwd also the game states set the bound to 50-75 percent of rebound values im almost there with all other aspects of tuning but unsure if what to do with dampers thanks

Run bump between 2.0 and 2.5. Rebound 8-11. This is a general range you should keep in mind when tuning.

I’m about to do my bumps for awd skyline, is it the same range?

Yes. But being awd you keep the settings pretty close. I.e. rebound 8.5/8.5 bump 2.2/2.2. You can go rebound 10.0/9.0 to give the car more rear grip. Inverse and the car’s front will have more bite. Experiment with different settings. Just make sure you save between changes.

thanks for reply i was wondering keep them equal on front and rear as my mind keeps wandering back to the weight balances of the cars and i been setting them high for front and low for rwd and low front and high rear on mid

Equal or close to it. Mid rwd, 10.6/10.4 rebound as an example.

in my experience you should set a base tune up and tweak from there check out worms tuning guide for more info on some of the cause and effect of damper tuning

thanks for advice ill post back when i retune a few cars i seem to spend more time tuning ( wrongly ) than racing lol

update set base settings to 10/10 2.5 2.5 and instant transformation found i was oversprung too so reduced by 20% front and rear and now im much faster with out powerslide or understeer anymore thanks

Thanks.

Re read your original question and realize you said bump. You can do the same with bump.

i have been setting bump at 2/5 2/5 rebound 10/10 and using a spring calculation and minus 20% from another thread and this works perfect along with other tuning tips i got from these forums and as a result i got a sierra cosworth bclass to 1.53!on bernese alps full and a f50 ferrari to 1.46 on bermese alps full, the sierra is ultra grippy for bclass prob the fastest bclass i tuned upto yet
