D Class Holden Monaro (top 10 tune)

As title states, I created a top 10 tune for the Holden Monaro which was just released today.

Currently I’m #10 at Daytona 24 hour with some time to spare. A top 5 may be possible for a killer driver, but I’d say a 2:04.9 might be the best it can do. Currently I’m at a 2:05.285.

The car is no aero and does not have race brakes (couldn’t fit them) but handles really well. Actually it handles a lot better than expected and highly recommend the car to be built for other purposes.

Looks like it has potential then. What’s the build like in terms of power/weight upgrades?

I’m eyeing up the Opel at the moment but might work on a C/500 Holden soon.

Full weight reduction is around 2400-2500lbs if I recall correctly. You can do that plus 5.7L in D class but aspiration conversion needs to be dropped. It probably won’t be as fast as the Torana in D due to the Torana’s lighter weight but should be a lot more stable mid corner which may result in consistent laps. One transmission upgrade is needed for this car unless you’re going for all out grip.

In C class this car should be very good because you can fit tires or go all out power. It seems to grip just fine as is, so I don’t think it’ll need more than street tires. It’s pretty well balanced and wasn’t hard to tune, unlike the Torana which i found to be a headache.

You don’t hang around! I like running some fun and/or quick cars around Daytona, the potential is there for some odd surprises.

I only got a 2:08 around Daytona but that was still good enough for Top 100; car’s pretty easy to drive although braking can be tricky. I’m sure I could get more time out of it with more laps but overall you did a good job with this.

That’s a really fast lap. If you can hit around that online consistently you’ll win with ease. Normally people are running around 2:10’s - 2:12s. It took me a bit before I broke into 2:06s but now I can do them consistently. I’d say 30 laps and you’ll be good to go.

Yea you just have to be patient a bit with the brakes. I couldn’t figure out a way to use them without killing the top end. The build has limited uses but Daytona pops up a lot online so you pretty much need a track specific build.

As a reference, with brakes I had to use aero and the car ran 2:07.4s. It wasn’t slow, but there was time left on table due to terrible top end.

Stay tuned…I’m working on something else and it’s running high 2:06s (roughly around #25 on lb). Lol.

I pulled a Top 50 at Sebring (Full, Night) earlier today, in the middle of a career race of all things. Also won a bunch of races on Johniwanna’s stream with the Monaro, good missile for the Hoppers.

Very nice! Well done!

I’m not surprised it did well there. I realized fairly recently with another car with a missile build that sebring is a great fit for these types of cars.

Got four top 100’s with your tune at Daytona…my best was #49 on infield night. Thanks!

Well done! Congrats on a top 100 sweep!

Thanks for the support to everyone, including the silent majority who have downloaded, used and liked the tune. Love seeing new cars populate the leaderboard.
