Crashing to desktop before the menu is shown

Hi, everyone,

I just installed Forza Motorsport 6: Apex on my Windows 10 computer but when it starts up it just crashes straight to the desktop. My system is as follows:

  • CPU: i7 6700K @ 4.6GHz
  • GPU: Zotac 980 Ti AMP! Extreme
  • RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance (3000MHz)
  • Mobo: Hero VIII
  • SSD: 850 Evo
  • Acer XB271HU
    The system has recently been formatted so the Windows install is about as clean as it can be. There’s no error message.

Any ideas? I really want to try this game.

Update: this is solved thanks to the thread shown below. The issue was that the game crashes if you have a 165Hz monitor. I changed to 144Hz and it ran.
