Crashed the game after falling through map, now I can't get back in.

had the same bug 3 days ago while driving around in a forzathon event, and my game been crashing on splash screen every time i press continue. i reinstalled the game 3 times, heck i’ve even reset windows… im convinced that it’s an error with the save game. i refuse starting over with a new save as a solution.
it’s honestly ridiculous how the devs are ignoring such a game breaking bug while ton of ppl are reporting it.

I’m having the exact same issue too. I’ve created a ticket already, but no reply yet. Starting the game from the beginning is not an option for me at all. I need my save to be fixed.

I have had the same issue, grey circle spinning (fell trough map maybe). Had to restart game, as soon as you need to press enter or A, CTD withouth any message.

I am still able to play, only on a new profile *so all my progress is gone.

If you want you can reset the app, go into the game, cancel the synch, play untill you have a fresh save. Now if you restart the game it will promt you with a synch issue. Click chose later and you will be able to play on a temporary profile untill they fix this.
Although ive seen people waiting for months for the devs to fix it…

I have the same problem… was driving through the tunnel when I just fell through the map → installed the game again but nothing seems to work. updated everything and every other game is working except forza

Count me in on the list of people this happened to. Was drifting around a flat corner in the '02 GT-R Skyline and fell through the world. Quit my game and now I can’t start my old save from either Xbox One or PC.

Exactly same Problem here.

I am OK with starting a new Game, but i don’t know how.

I reseted the App in Windows Settings.
Reinstalled the Game.

If i start it and cancel the sync. The Game Crashes!

The option with disconnect the Computer from Internet is not possible, because i use shadow.tech Gamestream Server for gaming.

Hi does anyone know if you can recover a profile on PC from a few days ago. I have backups but don’t want to do anything yet unless it scews things up totally.

Forza has been working brilliantly, purchased on the Xbox but playing on the PC.

For no reason the other day I crashed (Literally in the game) during the game and the graphics went wrong (light blue & flickering and flashing).
Could hear the car but couldn’t see anything. Couldn’t cleanly exit the game as the ESC key didn’y bring up the options and if it did I couldn’t see it to select anything.
So had no option but to kill it in task manger.
Then went back on and it loads up but when I get to the screen that says welcome “GamerTAG” it sits for a while and then crashes.

Went to the XBox and tired on there. It sat for a while syncing. This completed fine but now when it loads it does the same thing on the xbox so I assume that is using the same corrupt profile that is downloaded to the xbox from the cloud.
Don’t get any error message like E45 as others do.

Logged a call on the support site a couple of days ago against the corrupt profile option but not heard anything back. Do these calls get answered and can this issue be fixed?

With other games you get to download/export your profile so you can manage it yourself. Does this happen in the Forza world?

As I said I have comprehensive backups from when I started but have no idea if you can use these. I assume as with most Windows 10 apps it sits in the packages dir which I can find but don’t see a way of rolling back.

Anyone else had the same issue and managed to recover or do I just wait for support to work some magic? If so how long does this usually take?

Getting withdrawl symptoms and it’s only been a couple of days…

UPDATE


Just manually updated to the lastest version with the TOP Gear task via the MS Store and all is now miraculously working. Got latest game save back with all data.

Still would like to know if you can back it up though. Don’t like relying on Microsoft to do it.

Same problem here, still no response from ticket submission since a week. I wish they will fix this fast…
But i’m surprised it’s still not on the list of “Known issues” when I see 6+ topics with multiple people with exactly the same problem.

Latest update (PC: 1.317.24.2) fixed my corrupted save, everyone try to update!

I’ve updated the game with the recent July update. It worked like a charm. Now my save is loading again. Everything is fine, only graphics and control settings were reset. The save is at the same state as it was before the issue.
