On tracks where there is a lot going on, i am getting some really broken audio.
This video is from an offline career race in dubai. It started with alright audio but got gradually worse, especially at the hairpin where there are fireworks and a lot going on.
I had similar issues on Forza 5 (the topgear track with the dubsters and london props) but none on Forza 6.
Had an issues during my 24 stream with Audio like this. Between the static and the crackling then all of a sudden my controller would make random inputs on it’s own. Pull the car left… not shift ((( manual w/ Clutch )) when the correct buttons were applied. Ended up having to do a full hard reset on the Xbox to fix it. The stream was at a loss for words. Control input was fixed but then later the sound came back on random tracks. Should of wrote them down as I though it was just me.
i went ahead and uninstalled everything and am in the process of doing a re-install at the moment. I will check back in later today and let you know how it goes. Of course, it was easy for me to do that because I just started playing. I would have been a little nervous about uninstalling if I had made some significant progress. The static is so bad (I use the chase near camera) that I thought they added wind noise or something because I was using that camera angle, lol. I checked my audio connection and played other games as well as music and have no static, so i know it’s not the connection or my sound system.
Is it happening for you guys in cockpit view only? I’m not sure if they are crackles or wind noise effects, or even effects of the dirt and pebbles hitting the car’s undercarriage as those linger around for a good 10 seconds or so once you get back on tarmac. I don’t know… maybe the crackles/static/popping sounds are there… I think I may have come encountered them maybe twice or thrice but will have to play the game at length. So far, only been doing Free Play hotlapping, and generally with just my car on the track.
Nah, i tried every camera view and get the same thing. I threw Forza 6 on and ran a race and tried different camera angles and that sound effect isn’t there, it sounds like it has always sounded when it comes to forza. The opponents cars go through the same crackling, as well. It is an overall sound issue and it makes the game unplayable for me. One of the reasons I fell in love with this series are the sounds. Shut the music off, crank up the FX volume and crank up my sound system. Pure bliss. So this has really left a bad taste in my mouth. SO disappointed when I went out for my first few laps.
To clarify my situation, I have only been playing through my career and nothing online. Another note: at the beginning of the race when it shows my car pulling on to the track and up to the line, there is some serious lag happening as well. I am hoping that an uninstall and re-install clears this up, if it doesn’t, I am not sure what to do.
When I get back home tonight I will try to take some video of what is going on. Haven’t used the video capture before, so might take me a bit to figure out. If that fails I will use my phone. Of course, this is all hinged on if the reinstall works or not.
Tried changing your sound system settings from the menu? I know you shouldn’t have to since there are no problems in other games. And what sound setup do you have?
My only complaint is the samples getting mixed up or repeated too many times, getting applied incorrectly and resulting in a car sounding completely different than what they do IRL or the previous games. That and a lack of loud bass and general ‘oomph’ in the car sounds. Exhaust notes are just not prominent like they are in the other Forza games.
I messed with my sound settings, hoping that would re-sync the sound and clear any issues up, but to no avail. My normal setup is to run the sound from the Xbox to my Samsung TV and then an optical from the TV to my Vizio soundbar setup. Have never had any issues with anything else. I ended up bypassing the TV passthru thinking that might be the issue, but still get the same sound. I am convinced this is a bug on Forza’s behalf. I cannot recreate in any other game and my sound system works fine when playing movies or audio through the Plex app on my Xbox. Again, I will see what happens when I get home and everything is freshly installed.
I ran into an audio issue last night. Breakout Division - Forza Touring Cars. To me it was like the audio was clipping past the acceptable volume threshold. It carried throughout the five race series. I turned the volume down and watched the telemetry to shift. It was so bad you could barely distinguish the car engine sound. It also moved from car to car. As the series progressed from race to race, I would switch cars.
I tried to find other similar issues in the list of pages here, but it is hard to sort through, so I posted here. I found in the PC known issues a similar issue when backing out of a race. I think this was the case here, but I am playing on an Xbox One. AI put me in the bushes, LOL. I tried to re-create the issue this morning by re-entering the series. Obviously the reboot help the issue. No issue.
I also looked at the Release note list from the Message from Turn 10 to see if there was a similar issue. This is the only audio issue that I am aware of in my quest for the Drivers cup in my little world.
.
Same here with just about all views. I get a HUGE weird sound during the Rewind process and it sort of loses complete sound (after the noises) then back again. Still, lots to be fixed with this early-released code.
i got home and gave it a go with the new installation and it seems to have remedied the problem. i went straight to career mode, in the hot hatch series and raced on maple valley. i knew things would be alright after seeing my car pull up to the line with no serious lag happening. everything sounded great and performed smoothly. i hope no one else runs into this same issue, because it was pretty disheartening after all the anticipation (the same anticipation i feel every time a new version is released) to have the game perform so terribly. here’s to hoping I don’t run into this problem again.
I also experienced audio stuttering. Game runs smooth in terms of framerate, but audio seem to be choppy. Seems to happen randomly, some races are fine, some chops like crazy, but only audio - graphics don’t stutter, freeze etc.
For me it was pretty clear that it happens when the console has too much to render.
Tight crashes, fireworks (the one with the paper strips in them) and rain/smoke.
The clip in the original post, was a race that lasted almost 1 hour, and the crackling started aprox after 20 minutes. It got worse the longer i got into the race (felt for ever with that sound!)
Yeah, I am having the same issue with the crackling audio. The race usually starts out ok but usually after the first 1/2 lap the sound is terrible. At first I thought it may have been an an audio cable going bad but I have tried HCMI audio, through my stereo using spdif, and turtlebeach headset connected to the controller. All had the same cracking audio problems.
Not sure if there is a fix for this, but same issue on my brand new Xbox One X. Its not as extreme, but it makes the game incredibly irritating to play. I’ve also had some really really bad menu stuttering and lagging. Works great in every other game except Forza 7. Any word on if this is being worked on?
