I don’t write this in a negative way and I have no intention to defame the team or anything.
I just want to discuss some things.
I know this is beta and hopefully the team is working hard to get the game a better optimization.
Right now I don’t think the game live up to it’s true potential. We get it: it’s free-to-play, it’s more of a market benchmark to get the Forza series on PC later.
The gameplay, the visuals are good. The cars are good. Of course the lack of multiplayer is sad but again it’s free-to-play so it’s expected we understand the situation.
What I don’t understand is all the lag spikes we get in the game.
If we compare to the other leading titles in the industry - as for example Project Cars. The video settings in Project Cars are highly customizable and I was able to achieve a superb stable frame rate with a stunning image quality.
My processor is i7-4790k @4.4 Ghz (Turbo)
and my GPU are 2X GTX 960 Strix (SLI)
and I can’t get a stable framerate in Forza 6 Apex even at the lowest settings (which is dumb because I have enough horsepower to get much better results).
Hell, I’ve heard about someone here having GTX 980 Ti and having the same freeze lags that I get.
What kind of super-monster-computer do we need to run the game at a stable framerate?
I have absolutely no fun doing races if it’s not 60fps stable. It has to get stable at 60fps.
It seems like the game uses too much VRAM for what we actually get in game. It may not be this, I just don’t know.
Why the lag spikes?
