Connecting to new game sometimes makes you wait for too long

When I connect to a new online race, I try to choose a car as quickly as possible. But even when I’m really fast, the game is often at “players getting ready” and I have to wait for the event to finish. Could you please try to connect me to a game that is nearly ending instead of one that is just about to start? Like 80% of the last event? And then let me pick the car for the next race instead of the current since I only get to drive it in Horizon limbo with one or two other losers anyway.

I’ve got a Ryzen 5800, 32GB RAM, nvme drive and 250Mb internet, so it’s not that my computer takes too long to load stuff.

Agree. Also, happens regularly to me that I wait in limbo for the race to finish, only to not load into the next race so I’m expected to wait in the same limbo for another race to finish.
Also it happens to me regularly that I wait in limbo for the race to finish, then apparently it’s the last race of the event so I get offered a different event without having been able to participate in that one.
Very frustrating.

IMO you shouldn’t be allowed to join an existing championship.
