I’m interested to know how may hours I have spent playing Forza Horizon 4 in total, but different stats give different results. Which of the below stats would tell me my actual total time played?
From In game Forza Stats:
Total Time Driven = 10h 50m
Total Time in Horizon Life = 8h 55m
Total Time Online = 44m
Total Time in Eliminator = 2h 11m
From XBox console companion App Total Time played[ = 22h 41m
Adding Up the time recorded in history for wach of the cars I have driven = 31h19m
Which of the aboves stats (or which combination of the above stats) would give the true total time I have been playing the game?
The Xbox club stat ‘time played’ logs time from the moment you open the game until you quit it. So unless you are idle a lot or don’t quit it (like not closing the game when using another app on an Xbox), it’s going to give you an overall time spent in the game.
Thanks Guys - I will use the Xbox club total time played.
The reason I was trying to find an accurate figure for time played is because I work out how much each game costs me in terms of £/hour, so I can see which games are giving me value for money (that would be Forza!) vs those which are a waste of money (like when you pay £40 on a game, play it once and never use it again!).
Guess it comes down to whether you like the game or not!! Using “Time played” to judge the games worth seems way off base. Do you like the game? If you don’t like the game and enjoy playing when you have time then did you really waste your money?
Horizon 1, 2 and 3 are worth a ton because we played way too many hours and days. Horizon 4 isn’t as valuable as the others but I don’t consider it a waste of money. I still play the game every Thursday and Monday night with friends but the other nights I’m on Horizon 2 and 3 with the same friends.
The most meaningful one is Total Time Driven, assuming you spend the vast majority of your time driving, which is based on miles driven (car must be moving to record this). You can check that against average miles per hour and see that they add up, total miles driven divided by total time (in hours) driven.
That Total Time Driven doesn’t include menus, paint, tuning, etc. But does include all time spent driving, whether in freeroam or racing, solo or online.
The game tracks time played in various ways, the most important being Horizon Life, which is not always spent driving, but gives you an idea. I have more than 500 hours in Horizon Life.
Then there’s Xbox Live playtime. On Xbox you select the game, press the start button (it’s not really “start”, it’s that button where “start” would normally be), click on “Official Club”, then under the “Progress” tab you’ll find the “Stats” section, which will give you total playtime, that is, the time for which the game has run on your account.
