Comments on the fallback playlist

I do the fallback list as well as the main one. Cut internet and start the game. I’ve noticed the following.

  • I think there’s a fixed playlist of items, summer to spring, just gets repeated (see below).
  • Dailies tend to be slightly longer than in the main playlist.
  • Rewards are not as good but, well, not a problem.
  • Completed championships and stunts auto-complete in the next series (they do give points). Weekly, daily and photo need to be done.
  • “Complete a Showcase Event” (also story and Exhibition) cannot be completed if done already (yep, same bug).
  • “Earn 3 Stars from any Horizon Story” cannot be completed if done already.

I agree with most of your points, however it likely won’t be fixed, the devs are far too busy spamming that ctrl + c / ctrl + v

But honestly is there any reason to fix the fallback playlist ? Isn’t it really just something intended to keep one briefly entertained until the connection to the servers comes back ? Anyway the devs definitely do have better stuff to do, even if all it is amounts to Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V

as for the fixes, yes, though the story ones . . . we’ve only had one in the main playlist since the bugged stuff earlier and that was Drift Club where few had done it so I’m not convinced the fundamental issue has been fixed

anyway, as per the topic title, just commenting

I’ve had the fallback list a few times. It lasts for maybe a minute for me before everything works as it should so not really an issue.

Absolutely, and I was thinking that’s a good way to check up on some fixes by forcing the fallback playlist to play. I don’t think it’ll work for me though, need the internet to play the game as a Game Pass title. I’d hoped they had fixed the story issue but suspected they weren’t trying (maybe it’s even on the WFBD list) when they stopped making Story Challenges.

not a big deal, no, just thought it worth making a comment on how it works, what does work and what doesn’t

I see the back-up playlist every time I resume a play session as well. I suspect it has to do with the game reconnecting with the servers. It’s all right, as it always seems to resolve itself upon connection, but it just sucks that it has to do it every single time a session is resumed. It’s even worse when the season changes, and I have to sit through three separate load sessions for the season as the back-up playlist loads twice in a row (including the cutscene of the events dropping down on the map) before the true playlist finally appears. I suppose it’s better than how Horizon 4 is now, where a play session can rarely be resumed, even on the same day, and you have to sit through the game loading from the beginning, which is not fast on an Xbox One S.
