Colored box next to your gamertag in multiplayer

Hi,

Does anyone know if player level the colored box next to your gamertag in multiplayer actually matter for anything ? star next to your gamertag ?

The number is just a representation of how much time you’ve spent playing the game. The more you play the higher the number gets.

The star is a prestige icon similar to the Prestige system in Call of Duty. Once you reach a certain level (not sure what it is in FM8), you will Prestige and your level will reset to 1 accompanied by the star.
