Icons next to Players Names

This Forum has been so helpful and answers supplied have been really helpful.
I have another question with regard to online play. I noticed that when racing against opponents online, some of the players have small icons next to their names. Such as a crown or shield.
I was asking other players and they also don’t know what it is. Can someone tell me what they are.
Just curious if it is something you earn or can achieve

Hi ,
The crown means that these players are VIPs and the shield means that these players are club president of the club there in ( full shield ) or vize president of the club ( half shield ).

That explains why I have that shield next to my gamertag.
