In Featured Multiplayer, I encountered a bug where my lap wasn’t invalidated when having a collision.
In the clip above, the player (myself) deliberately collides with two walls and received no invalidation for my lap. Once a collision is detected/triggered, a small caution symbol should appear adjacent to the players current lap time in the top left of the screen to label it as “dirty” This didn’t happen, despite the severity of the collision and not to mention that the game also allowed me to completely “Wall Ride” the uphill left-hander prior to the sector shown in the clip. The game let me off the hook with no invalidation as the lap remained clean.
All this was done for experiment purposes to investigate this bug. The results seem to be random. The bug doesn’t happen every time and Bathhurst is not the only track it occurs on. It seemed to only be present during Practice and fixed itself for the race. I’m yet to know if it affects other players cars too or if it’s only something affected just by walls or any other track boundaries. This also only seems to be an issue with the collisions, I have not had problems with the game flagging off-track violations.
Has anyone else experienced this?
