I’m taking part in the Grand Touring volume - Timberland Series set of races. The cars are limited to 880. However in one race two Caparo T1s, rated Class P/952 appeared and almost won the race. In each of the following races a single Caparo T1 has been in each each rated Class P/952 whilst the rest of the grid is Class R/880 maximum.
Any ideas why this is happening? It didn’t happen before the recent update that added the Caparo T1 to the game.
I can confirm this has happened to me in the Grand Touring volume as well… anywhere from 1 to 3 Caparo T1s in every single race. Screenshot of the most recent incidence of this happening.
This screenshot is results of a race in the Rolling Roads Tour.
Between this and frequent instances of AI drivers exhibiting traits like driving on rails or rubber banding, I think Turn-10 needs to re-evaluate itself after this and FMS5…
A prime example of more AI shenanigans were at a race at Road Atlanta on Expert. (I’ve seen this same behavior at the “New Driver” difficulty as well)
Start of lap 5 (final lap on this race) I’m in the lead of the race, p2 maybe 1 second behind, 2 at most. Over-brake slightly going into t1 and p2 gets around me at that point. No problem, I made a mistake, I am paying the price for it.
For the remainder of that race the AI driver in p1 continues to open the gap between me and him. End of the race (that lap) I was .6 seconds off my best pace that race, and AI had created a 5 second lead on me… in one lap. Road Atlanta is a short track, there’s no way that AI would reasonably have been able to create a 5 second gap when I was less than a second from my best pace on that lap. I only wish I had taken a screenshot of it now.
Can confirm this as well. It seems that car. the Caparo T1, from the Logictech DLC populates the whole series. However, the car does not always win or even finish in the top 5. I actually grabbed an in-game photo of one and it’s in my gallery.
This is happening to me right now and the t1 car killed the rest of the field with me coming in 2nd. He was gone since the second lap out of 4. It’s not even like I had a chance at catching him either.
Hi OrcSoul. I can’t see your screenshot but its probably the same as what I’ve taken photos of on my phone in case Turn 10 want some proof! Like you say about AI drivers on rails the thing that gets me about FM6 is how it appears to me that none of the AI cars have trouble with the water on the track during wet races. I do my best to avoid the water but still slow down/go wide/aquaplane a bit but the AI cars just drive straight through with barely a twitch!
Had a race on Watkins Glen. Was enjoying myself in first when a T1 came up to me on lap 3. I kept him behind for the rest of the lap but when I went to cover the T1 in one corner the car went wide around me and disappeared. I had no way of catching the AI driver either. Still at least I came second.
