has anyone else been having trouble talking in game chat in lobbies for me it soundds like people are robots and i cant understand them try restarting everything and still the same. it might be my connection also i dont know, sometimes when im racing it says weak network connection
Yeah its not just happening to you. Normally once you leave the lobby and join another one the issue gets fixed. I do know xbox and T10 are aware of the issue. The weak network connection is also another reason it could be happening

Hey guys. Just got Forza 5 today and notced a bug in online racing. Whenever someone talks, after a few seconds, their voice makes a sound like a robotic stutter. I cant communicate because of this. Does anyone else experience this?

I’m not very good with tech, but I can tell you that we had a lot of issues with audio online tonight. Seemed that everyone who came into our lobby had an issue at one point or another. I assume its some kind of bug, or at least I hope that’s what it was. Its never been like that before, so be hopeful that its something that will get taken care of soon enough.
Try turning off Xbox entirely
tried quitting forza from the home screen tried unpkugging headset
tried removing batteries from controller
nothing works
Try hard resetting your xbox. Hold down the power button on the systwm until it turns off. Wait 30 seconds and turn it back on and it should be a green screen and take a bit to turn back on. This fixes the Robot voice issue for me
mines pretty much constant with robot voices, i recently changed my broadband provider , dunno if its the sky hub they send out , but i got to do a complete shutdown (xbox) to get it normal voices again
I get the robots everytime in online. Fortunately i can usually drop into party chat with the guys in on with, and the robotic chat stops completely.
this is a constant since Long Beach came out.
I have fibre optic connection, with speeds more than good enough for xbox online, connected direct.

I prefer to call it the “Max Headroom”
I discovered a fix for this some time back. When you go back to the Xbox home screen, hit menu on Forza 5 and select quit. That fixed it for me every time. Obviously that nullifies the quick-resume feature but it saves you from doing a hard reset.
Yes I get this too its very annoying, I thought it was my mic going bad but with other also having this issue it seems to be game related.

Do you guys have Open NAT settings?
Voice communication is greatly affected by moderate or strict NAT. It also affects matchmaking, and who you are able to connect to.
If it’s moderate or strict, I advise figuring out how to get it to “Open.” You may have to call your ISP or tech support for your modem/router if you can’t figure it out after a Google search.
You can see your NAT settings in the “Network” section of the Xbox settings.
I have them constantly too.
This had has a 100% percent success rate for fixing it for me as well. Restarting your xbox without doing this does not restart your forza sometime. Force quit it and restart the game should work.
Any ideas on why my hopper chat is always distorted? I’ve tried all the Internet settings in game with no luck

everyone has it… Party chat is clear as a bell though if your racing with friends.
