Challenge: 700 hp engine in D class?

Hi all,

FH3 is my first Forza game and I’m getting close to done with all the achievements, so I’m getting more into tunings and such to extend the life of the game. I was messing around with building a D class car and chose the low-PI 1949 Mercury Coupe to start with. I was surprised I could stuff the big 700hp V12 engine in there and still be in D class. Of course this means I can’t put much more in the build, but I thought I’d try it out for fun. What I got was pretty hilariously undrivable. I took the differential accel down to 25% or so just so I could start moving in anything like a straight line. In the end, I decided to go with a C class car just to get some more handling in there. It’s still not race-worthy, but I’m hoping to figure out how to tune it just right.

Am I deluding myself that this is possible? Do I simply have too much power with too little control?

I’m curious if any of you experienced tuners could make a raceable C or D version using this car and engine.

Awd swap it. It’ll magically drive better. That is the key to making massive hp cars work in lower classes.

If you want to skip the building and tuning portion and get right down to winning, I have a C-class version of that car shared. It’s probably the best all around C-class car in the game. I used the 6.2L V8 instead of the V12. When you race people online, most of them won’t even finish the race - this car is ridiculous.

700hp in a 2wd D class car is pretty much unusable. If you have enough PI left to AWD swap it then it will be much better as previously stated.

My methodology for tuning is usually AWD swap first, then add as much power as possible while still keeping in my chosen class, There are exceptions to this rule but for C&D it’s pretty much the way to go the majority of the time, if you’re looking for a car that can set fast lap times.
