Cars with different Performance Index in Story Mode

Often in the story mode challenges on the leaderboards I noticed cars having different PI. I am not referring to the cheater people at the top, but people from my friends list also… An example is the one “High Jump” where you drive a Mercedes AMG ONE over a danger sign… It says my car is S1-895, but some other peoples cars are S2-927… Almost all of them are like this, with peoples PI varying by about 20-30 points. Why is this?

Same here. I have a live support ticket which covers it, wouldn’t hurt for more people to report it as well. Made getting 3 stars on a particular story a lot more of a chore than it should have been.

As far as I can tell, the cars have slightly different upgrades in different seasons. Results seem to be more or less comparable. Not sure about this though.

I don’t believe that to be the case at all, the story takes place in the exact same season regardless of what the weekly season is. Only thong I can’t tell is if it’s cheating of some sort, or just another broken part of the game. At this point, I’m willing to count on broken since they have yet to make any real improvements in the entire time I’ve been playing this franchise. I started with FH2 and it seems to be in steady decline through 3, 4 and now 5. When they gave out the loyalty reward cars they completely skipped FH3 or FH2, I guess I just bought those games to collect dust or something.
My loyalty to this franchise is something they certainly flushed down the toilet, I’ll be happy to spend my saved dollars on a working game.

I thought only some of the chapters timetravel you to a different season? Not sure about that either. I can tell you it’s not cheating though, I’ve been doing stories this week and several chapters put me in a car with PI either higher or lower than the majority (but not all) of the leaderboard results, and I simply assumed that those other results have been done earlier in summer or autumn. Someone also reported improving their previous result this week and their car PI changed in the exact same way.

What do you mean they have different upgrades in different seasons?

I got my loyality reward cars for FH2 and FH3 - both Lambos…

And yeah of course you only bought these games years ago to get a reward for FH5 if it will ever released…

I noticed this recently and posted about it in another thread. In a lot of the stories I did, my car was well down on PI compared to most other people on the board, and I do believe the car was less powerful. It is either a bug or they decided to make it harder but not wipe the leaderboards, which renders them worthless as the early players had an unfair advantage (not their fault obviously).

I want to know how I get an X class Napier Railton like the one I raced against a few nights ago. Took a capture on Xbox but don’t know how to upload them here.

I also noticed this, could it be that the pi is set depending on you avatar difficulty level??

I noticed this as well - some story missions I did in the first few days the game was out - nothing wrong at the time because as you would expect everyone is in the exact same car so leaderboards should show the exact same class and PI for every car - ignoring the obvious cheats at the top.

But sometime after the first (only) game update I went to redo some of the Vocho story missions for a faster leaderboard and found the car I was using this new time is a lower PI than previous. The difference varies by chapter, but the difference gets greater with the performance of the car, so closer to 900 it was about 25PI difference. It really stands out in one or two chapters as it drops below a class level, so on a S1 event it dropped my official figure down to an A class.

If you pause within a challenge and open the map you can hover over your own car on the map - it displays the PI rating that you should have for doing the chapter. But in the top left of the screen where it displays your current car details, name and PI rating, that it where it shows the lower figure, and that it what is getting pulled through into the leaderboards.

Don’t know what is causing it, and atleast for the purpose of fairness the game is putting newer scores on a lower PI rating rather than higher PI, so no claims of getting an advantage there, but does seem weird behaviour in a mode where the purpose is for everyone to race the exact same car with zero modifications.
