The setup for the W154 must have not been tested by anyone because it is by far the worst driving car in BOF1 Spec series, even with tuning and the required completely scuffed driving technique as a 4930 rated driver it’s 10 to 15 seconds per minute a lap slower than the class leading car being the Audi Type D. (That means you get lapped every 5 if the leader is on it)
It’s so undrivable I’ve never seen a player aside from myself complete more than 1 lap during a race in it and in the 2 races I’ve done in it I have not been able to actually finish because I will be more than 2 minutes behind the race leader making me DNF.
Just took it for a spin myself, couldn’t get more than a lap of Spa without getting rather frustrated. It has serious issues with tracking in a straight line down the straights, and generally lacks any rear stability. I know these cars weren’t easy to drive in the day, but, pretty sure they wouldn’t have been set up with negative levels of stability in a straight line. It’s that bad that even the AI can’t drive it, currently watching mine snake it’s way down the Kemmel and pit after only two laps on track due to the excessive and disparate rear tyre wear compared to the fronts. If it wasn’t possible to get the Merc to balance with the other two, it could have just been removed from the car list for the series, leagues will do that if they run into the same issue.
It’s almost as if the car is generating lift instead of slight downforce (I know these cars didn’t have spoilers, but the body wasn’t an airplane wing). Also, Forza has always had a minor issue with longitudinal grip, well really grip in general. It’s like if you try to push a vehicle (no matter what class/category), you’re actually trying to find the limit of the tires only, not the car itself.
True. W154 have totally broken setup. Goes like on the ice. Even worse than 60’s Eagle-Weslake and Lotus Type 49 stock tuning that also sholds be fixed
Edit: Looks like this car goes enough well only with full tank. Low fuel level badly disbalance it.
I just did a few laps at Spa and set 2:45 with stock setup. Used simulation mode without clutch, without assists on controller
Perhaps it would be better to change the title. Like completely undrivable with low fuel level
