Cars - Mazda Savanna RX-7 - After upgrades, clips through track, crash or black screen (1640548)

Using the racing suspension on the 1990 Mazda RX-7 and setting the ride height to minimum caused the car to be invisible in the racing menu (as in, where the car should show in the pit there was nothing there) and caused the practice session to freeze in the starting cinematic. Also, when I tried skipping the cinematic, it gave me a black screen with the racing user interface visible, and speedo read 1 mph. There was sound and steering input seemed to register, but there was no motion or anything else, and the start menu was unresponsive, forcing me to shut down and restart with the xbox button on the controller.

I had identified the same problem and have additional information here.

It seems that if the rear side ride height is set to the lowest setting, the tires will dip into the ground.
Also, if the ride height is set below a certain value, it will soon bottom out no matter how stiff the spring rate and damper settings are.
My guess is that the settings around the fundamental suspension are out of whack, which cannot be adjusted by the player.

We have saved a clip to make the issue easier to understand, please check the video for more details.

ps: I’m sorry if my English is strange because it’s a machine-translated text.

I suspected that might be what was happening. It didn’t occur to me to try tuning it after loading the car onto the track. In my case it just gave me a blacked out screen with the ui, possibly the entire car was under the track.

The 1990 Mazda RX-7 has a game breaking suspension glitch.
XBOX Series X
Performance settings

If you put the race suspension on it the car untuneable. The suspension bounces around and no matter how much you try it doesnt get better without maling the car slower than stock.

Heres the big bit, if you lower the car it breaks the game. If you lower the car and apply the tune try to get in the car the game crashes, if your on track you will fall through the ground and do -2147483637 mph
You meed to lower the rear all the way for this to happen.

This glitch renders the car utterly useless as you cant tune the suspension.

Managed to save the tune and share it

This started after I tuned car: Spring rate was over 1,000 lbs and car lowered to lowest point. I noticed the acceleration and braking distance said Failed on every field. Went to drive the car and game crashed. Now if I pick the car in anyway the game crashes. I can’t reset the tune or even sell the car. I’ve restarted the game&console and neither fix this issue.

I have driven the 1990 RX-7 up to level 14 and now 15 at LeMans Old Mulsanne the first time I upgraded it at the track and tuned it and when I returned to drive it the car did show in the pits and the screen was black when I tried to race, no graphics. So I sold the car and rebought it and it worked fine. I drove it back up to level 8 and upgraded it in my garage went back to LeMans and drove it to level 15. Went back to the garage upgrade and tuned and after the tune the car didn’t show up in the upgrade section or the paint section the text was still visible but no car. I removed all upgrades and still no car. I went to View Car and the screen was black and I had no way to do anything and had to exit game. When I came back the car is there still painted level 15 2650 points avaliable for upgrade. Time is recorded. Any ideas I can try different things if you gave any suggestions.

When equipping the bodykit for the 1990 Mazda RX-7 the game crashes when trying to race with the car.If I do get into a race its just a black screen and the speedometer says I’m going - 2 Billion miles an hour.

Playing on Series X

This car seems to freeze my game when trying to do anything with it (upgrade, freeplay, paint)

Pretty much the same issue. Can’t remember exactly which car level it has happened. Tried selling the car and starting again, still happened. Was trying to use it for the Retro tuners in builders cup. Have tried three times.

Gave up in the end, now using a Silvia

still having this issue, here’s a perspective from the upgrade menu

I am having the same issue.

I’m having similar issues with my Savanna. In the My Cars menu it’s just not there, if I try to race it my game crashes. It’s interesting to hear the suspension seems to be one cause. I might try to raise the ride height and see if it makes a difference.

This sounds similar to the suspension glitch in FH4.

First off I lvld up this car to 46 day 1 of the game and havent been able to drive it since. The car picture is blank and if im lucky enough to actually get in the car get a black screen going negative 2 billion mph and then my game crashes. Please fix this game… been playing forza since middle school and here I am almost 30 wishing i could have the same exeprience from my youth.

Last thursday (January 18) FM '23 crashed while I tried looking at my car in the car bay. At first the car disappeared altogether. The game rendered the car bay, but the car went invisible. When I backed out to the menu, the car had also gone invisible in the car thumbnail. Trying to back out to the main menu, to restart, the game crashed to black screen. This was new. All the other times after crashes I’ve been thrown out to the Xbox home screen.

Now to the main problem: When I tried restarting the game it got stuck on the splash screen every time. I have power cycled my console, resynced my save file and profile with the cloud, reinstalled the game and checked my internet connection. All my other games work normally.

The game will launch in offline mode, but as soon as I try to go online again it gets stuck on the splash screen.

These problems lead me to believe the crash has corrupted my profile/save file. I’ve already submitted a ticket to Forza Support, but it’s been 6 days now without any answer or help. Not being able to play a game I paid for, and really miss playing, is making me increasingly frustrated.

Has anyone else had these problems? If so, what was the sollution? Did you lose your progress? (That’s one of my worst fears). How long do I have to wait for support to do anything?

Thank you for your time!

Please fix it asp

Fellow Forza fans, I have found the solution!

Since update 4 there seems to be a new type of game crash. Instead of throwing you out to the xbox home screen, the screen goes black and your game gets stuck.

If this happens you must clear you cache. Here’s how:

Special thanks to user “Unfairline” on GTPlanet who helped me find this solution!

Glad to hear your situation was resolved Hasse. We actually did an internal reset of your profile yesterday as well, so not sure if that’s what resolved it or your cache clear. The in-game issue that is causing this has to do with setting Rear Right Height springs to 4.3 for the MAZ_RX7_90

That is an incredibly specific bug.
