Whew - that took a wee while, but I have finished the single player career and showcases. Here are a few stats for anyone who’s interested in how long it might take - I started with the Ultimate Edition, the full credits bonus of 25m credits, and 10 of the bonus cars. I then tried to vary the cars used to build up many different affinities, as my ultimate (and probably futile) goal is to have all cars and max as many affinities as possible. I have played a few hours of multiplayer, but mostly single. At the end:
Driver level - 227
Hours played - 168
Hours driven - 104
Cars owned - 128
Cars used - 118
Affinities maxed out - 6 (Audi, Ferrari, Ford, Lotus, McLaren & Peugeot)
Affinity levels in total - 501
Credits in the bank - 49 million
futile? hardly. you already own 1/4 of all cars. you and completed career mode and can now focus on freeplay or endurance where you spend more time on the track and less time in menus. you have 6 affinities completed and many half completed. its been less than a month. you can concentrate on useing high class cars so more laps/xp per minuet, more racing per minuet due to less time in menus etc… higher affinities pay more credit bonus and you have very few zero affinities left. maxing out every affinity will take you the longest. get good tunes and do really long races or rivals. affinities should be listed under your profile, knock out the highest ones 1st to give you an idea of where you really are. you are already maxing 2 affinities per week and partially compleeting even more. looks like there are 78 manufactures so far (including porche) play time wise i think you could be 1/3 - 1/2 way to maxing all affinities which will be the last really time consumeing thing you do if you get the fastest car for each manufacturer and reduce time spent in menus, race dry tracks because they are faster, etc…
max affinity is 25 rights? so you have enough levels to max out 20 affinities already if the others were zero. depending on what mods you use you could be half way to owning and maxing every affinity. already play time wise. hardly futile. its not like fm4 where it takes 20+ hours and 2.5 mill xp to max affinity. i think you can get it done before christams or new year if you dont get bored and quit (or something else forces you to reduce play time). easily.
One thing I have noticed about affinities is that even without mods, it takes roughly half the racing time to reach max affinity than in FM5 (~4 hours versus ~8 hours) - quicker with multiple Affinity +XP mods of course. The total XP needed to reach level 25 is a little lower too - 372k vs. 485k.
didn’t realize it was cut that much. heck if he went into full grind mode he might have a shot by halloween. he needs ,evel wise almost 50 more affin maxs X 4 hrs or 200 hours. 31-5 is 26. you would have to average 7.6 hours racing a day which even in long race mode would be 8 hours a day. more than i am willing to do but it could be done. and i have seen people going from 0 affinity to max is a single endurace race on career races that take 2-3 hours. that could cut it to needed less than 150 hours racing. or less than 5 hours a day. game came out 25 days ago (i am assuming he has ultimate and started playing on the 10th) so he’s averaging 6.7 hours a day. if he reduces menu time he can get there by halloween. and with all the spin cars and money he should be able to buy every car. then he can work on buying every part for every car and i think have that done by christmas.
Yeah, it should be achievable. There are 81 manufacturers according to my spreadsheet, and quite a few of them are well under way. The real bummer will be the few marques that have only one or two cars that I don’t really like, and will soon lose any novelty value they have (looking at you Hummer, Land Rover, Ariel, Cadillac, and especially Terradyne!). I’ve also noticed that there isn’t an affinity badge for Terradyne - not sure if this is an oversight, because it’s DLC only, or because they think no-one in their right mind will take it to 25!
Wow Swooshiain great job!!!
Glad to see someone that has been playing as much as me :p.
I can confirm that these numbers are roughly accurate.
I completed the main game (Stories of Motorsport & Showcases a few days ago)
My stats at the moment are:
Driver Level - 259
Hours Driven - 107
Cars Owned - 95 ( Still a lot of Free cars from packs to get yet. )
Affinities Maxed Out - 15
Total Affinities - 587
Credits in the Bank - 25,578,823 (I spent around 20 million credits trying to get the “Back of the Pack” Dare Mod).
I also got the Ultimate Edition and got the early access with all the Free cars except for the La Ferrari and the 25Million Credits.
lol. if you are not single make sure the wife and / or kids get your time too. you make her a forza widow you might be single again. my advice would be to just play for fun, not to grind. once you own everything the game does seem less rewarding. i shouldn’t talk too much, i “completed” fm5 in about 2 months. it was less fun once i was just making my mountain of useless credits even bigger. i went back to playing fm4. ocd behavior can suck the enjoyment right out of things.
Haha, only person I need to keep happy is my cat, and she’s golden as long as she has a full bowl of food! Can be tricky racing when she’s sleeping on my lap, though
I suspect I’ll slacken off from Forza in a few weeks and pick up some other unfinished games (hello, Rare Replay), but I’m still way below the time I put into previous Forzas, and I haven’t got bored yet!
